Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I love how hornet looks, no other bike in this segment is such a looker, although x blade has better low end performance it misses rear disc and ABS. If Honda had given these man it would be awesome. They could have given a gear indicator in hornet but I guess its cost cutting[emoji19]. In any case, Honda's x blade is a strong competitor to its own Hornet, and I guess that is why they skipped on ABS and rear disk, otherwise hornet would have stopped selling..maybe..
I chose Hornet for ABS and its looks, compromising gear position indicator which I thought we can live without[emoji28].

Gear shift indicator is convenient, but we can manage to ride without it once we are habitual with our bikes...Originally posted by elviento View PostI love how hornet looks, no other bike in this segment is such a looker, although x blade has better low end performance it misses rear disc and ABS. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
True. The only radials I've seen are the Zappers on the Gixxer. Not sure that Yamaha gives on the FZs these days. Apart from the looks, the xBlade is a worry free bike when compared to Hornet. I wonder why features are not consistent on Honda bikes. If one bike gets it, why shouldn't the other one as well? This is why they are losing sales. Personally, I would love to see the xBlade overtake the Hornet. It's a decent bike and I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.Originally posted by #bpk View PostNo radial in hornet.[My Motorcycles]

1. Good low end performance
2. price is cheaper
3. Having gear shift indicator
4. Refreshing new look, sure a head turner.
5. Seat is longer than hornet.
6. Headlight producing good brightness (am not sure about this point, correct me if am wrong)

No I think, hornet chassis, body type is different than xblade.. may possibilities are there after more modifications. Hope other hornet users will guide some correct answer for this.Originally posted by #bpk View PostYeah, can i downgrade the tyre size to 130 in hornet ?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yes you can. I think you want the tyre for better low end performance. The acceleration of the bike mainly depends on the gearing of the bike, hornet is a bit tall geared and that is the reason for low initial punch A shorter tyre will make the bike short geared and as a result the initial pickup will increase but you will lose a bit of top end. A 130/70 tyre is a shorter tyre with 91mm sidewall compared to 140/70 tyre 98mm sidewall, so installing it will improve a bit of low end but you will also lose out on a bit of top end. I have installed a 140/70 tyre on my fzs fi and as a result I have lost a bit of low end and gained a bit in the top end, the overall gearing has significantly changed as the stock tyre was 140/60 which had 84mm of sidewall so a increase of around 16% in tyre height.Originally posted by #bpk View PostYeah, can i downgrade the tyre size to 130 in hornet ?

One of the beauty of Hornet is its Big , beasty tyres bro, which few other bikes lack.. Don't imagine about fitting some slimmer tyres for hornet... Hornet will loose its macho look.Originally posted by #bpk View PostYeah, can i downgrade the tyre size to 130 in hornet ?

Thanks, i just want strong acceleration in 0 to 85kmph range . I dont ride above 100, for me pickup is everything. I love torque [emoji7]Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostYes you can. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
You may also go for a bigger rear sprocket or a smaller front sprocket for a short geard setup.Originally posted by #bpk View PostThanks, i just want strong acceleration in 0 to 85kmph range . I dont ride above 100, for me pickup is everything. I love torque [emoji7]
It will be a cheaper option as compared to a tyre change

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I understand ,gixxer is having good LOW end performance, but top speed of hornet is higher than gixxer I think(u shouldn't compare gixxer sf here). I reached a 123kmph in my hornet.Originally posted by #bpk View PostToday , i saw a gixxer speeding ahead of me and omg within very less time , it disappeard, gixxer has insane pickup man! Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
But in india, we want good 0 to 100 performance, good in gear acceleration, so manufacturer should pay attention to low end torque . In my state roads are so bad that 80 to 90kmph is more than enough for me. But i like hornet's look and the riding position is superb, i feel no pain in my body after ridingOriginally posted by gowthamh View PostI understand ,gixxer is having good end performance, but top speed of hornet is higher than gixxer I think(u shouldn't compare gixxer sf here). Yes , highway ride in hornet on midrange (50 to 90kmph) is an awesome feel , it's stability, braking are good. Yes , you won't feel the vibration, no backpain. Whereas in Apache rtr 180 (old model) I felt more vibration just at 90kmph.Originally posted by #bpk View PostBut in india, we want good 0 to 100 performance, good in gear acceleration, so manufacturer should pay attention to low end torque .
