Which Antirust you are using?Originally posted by Prashant Wadkar View PostUsing Antirust spray and it's working fine.No rusting at all. But bike pick up has gone down and taking too much time to reach 80kmph.as per Honda mechanic it's fine.

I don't see any significant fisting. Only at three bolts of tank, but not any joint or welding.
Any recommendations for shine spray for plastic parts.

My bike doesn't run every day. Mostly once a week. And for long rides [emoji41] [emoji16] at least 200+ each time I take it out!Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostWhich Antirust you are using?

So probably that's the reason for rusting at all welded joints, exhaust pipe and extra side foot rest along with 4 bolts on handle.
Last year as I well bike had rusted within 1 months, got it painted for free from ASC as it was just 5 months since I bought it.
Planning to have it diesel washed and spray painted once rain gets over.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
What should be the idle RPM for honda hornet?
Currently mine is one step above 1k mark? And I feel a lot of engine noise with this level.
I tried to reduce it to 1k level. But, it causes starting trouble.

Ride bike for 15-20 minutes and set it to 1200 RPM. If your bike still gets start trouble then set it to 1300Originally posted by kkarthik View PostWhat should be the idle RPM for honda hornet?

Hi bro..1k Mark is ideal so no need to change. Whenever you start your bike first time in a day, use kick to start. Above 1k it will give noise.Originally posted by kkarthik View PostWhat should be the idle RPM for honda hornet?

It depends, nothing fixed.Idle rpm is when bike should not stall if acceleration left free.Originally posted by kkarthik View PostWhat should be the idle RPM for honda hornet?

Start your bike is morning and keep it alive either using choke or little throttle.
After 2 min adjust your idle that it will not stall and doesn't cry out.
Mostly it should be 1 to 1.3k in morning.
In traffic same idle may reach to over 1.5k rpm that's fine.
I have set to 1k.In morning.
For morning warm-up: after starting bike I give little throttle and keep it 1.5k till it start automatically start increasing. Then I start driving the bike.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
By the book, Idle rpm is 1300-1500 for 160R's engine that is properly warmed. Cold engine would have a rpm close to 1000 or less and that is why often the decompressor cuts in and switches it off (the clack-clack-clack sound).Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostIt depends, nothing fixed.Idle rpm is when bike should not stall if acceleration left free. Idle rpm is adjusted only when the engine is warm (drive for 6-8 kms or 15 minutes of stop-and-go) and with the help of a digital tachometer, though our analogue/digital tachometer consoles are okay for gross adjustment.
Most of us get confused between "waiting for the oil to circulate from the sump" and "warming up the cold engine". Both are different. The very ritual of opening the choke fully, starting the engine and then keeping the choke half-way would take 10-30 seconds which is more than enough for the oil to circulate. This would just get us to the point where engine won't shut off and more and more gasoline could be vaporized in the carb.
I used to idle the cold engine 2-3 minutes thinking I was warming it up! But now a days, Once past the choke ritual, I start to drive sedately for first 3-4 kms and then open up slowly.
This is also the reason why super-short grocery run is more stressful for an engine than a highway run.

Yamaha FZ old model saree Guard foot step. Purchased from Yamaha dealer in Pala, Kottayam. Charged Rs 450/-. Fit directly and well suited.Originally posted by unik View PostHey Guys,
I am in damn search of a saree guard footstep aka ladies footrest. I found some in this thread like that of installing Yamaha FZ's footrest (See page 94). But I cannot find those kind of black footrest with spare parts dealers here in Trivandrum, Kerala. All they have are the chrome ones of Hero Splendor or something. Can you help me? Suggest for a specific model (or specific store in my place...if you know). Can Honda Unicorn 160's entire saree guard with step can be fixed to Hornet?...the three bolts should match, I guess. The search for a footrest is turning into a hunt for a footrest, even though these are trivial things

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
You can buy chrome plated one and paint it black in case of non availability of the black coloured footstep/footrest.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I own a CB Hornet 160R which is just 5 months old and has run for around 4100kms. Recently i am facing an issue with the front brake. Under hard braking the front handlebars starts to vibrate. This issue started about a month ago during the monsoon, when i first felt the vibration during a ride in the rains. As there is no proper shade to keep my bike where i live, the brake rotors were exposed to the rain water (although i used a bike cover, but it was not long enough to cover the rotors) and there was some rust buildup due to that, but after i took the bike out for a long ride the rust got scraped off by the brake pads. But the rust used to come back after a few days of continuous rain. So i bought a scotch brite and started scrubbing the rotors lightly to get that rust off along with forcing some pressurized water near the brake pads to force out some dirt that may have accumulated on the brake pads. The issues were solved, but recently the handlebar started vibrating again, although there is no rust on the rotor.
Can anyone explain me what can be the reason behind the issue and suggest a solution for the same?
Thank you in advance.
