I normally drive around 4 kms to nearby petrol bunk in order to get the tyre pressure checked. So what psi do you suggest ??
Honda recommended tyre pressure for hornet is
    25/25 when riding single
    25/29 when riding with pillion

So far I always used 25/27 which gives me smooth ride.

      Based on Honda's suggestion:
      25/25 - single
      25/29 - with pillion

I use 26/30 and I find it very comfortable. Used 26/36 earlier (as it is the "default" in any petrol station), but the ride gets quite bumpy.

Despite my repeated requests they are unable to source one in English. I remember a fellow owner has also been provided with a Hindi only manual.
My purchase experience has also been pathetic!

I dislike Honda's policy of issuing either Hindi or English only manual when most other companies such as Hero or Maruti Suzuki always provide both languages instructions very clearly side by side. Though the graphics are self explanatory they are not enough for a complete non technical person like me

I am unable to find any pdfs or manuals online related to the Hornet or Unicorn 160r for that matter.
I am quite affected as I am very slow at reading Hindi and i am missing out on important details and instructions related to the bike. (Apologies - I know Hindi is the national language but my bad I could not excel in it)

I would really appreciate if somebody could please send snaps from pages 1 - 90 and upload it on the forum or send on my personal id. This would be of immense help!

This is my humble request if fellow owners could contribute atleast 10 pages - 2 pages on a single snap beginning from the index.

My buying experience has been really bad. And I don't intend to go to the said dealer - Pilot Honda for servicing too.
However the bike in question is amazing and the only saving grace! Have completed 170 kms so far!

PS : Have bought Motul Chain Spray that I intend to use once a week as advised by the mechanic

I know I'm responding to very old thread. However, it makes sense as someone may find this useful. Here is the link to soft copy of Owners Manual

              Hi All..

I bought new Hornet of Matte Grey with Green stripes (Sp Edition) in the month March 15 this year (from Venetian Honda, Kandivali,Mumbai). Riding & comfortable is OKey initially but later this Monsoon (may be) / since 1.5 month; I had lot of punctures e.g. total 15 nos. and went 4-5 times to puncture shop where I'm regularly doing fueling at petrol pump on office way. I always maintaining proper air pressure (32 rear /28 front).

Now, What to do I cant understand? Really, It is frustrating moment. Currently, after Ok with puncture, again I felt there is low air in the rear tyre. I'm planning to go service center but I dont think so there will be solution. Men doing pucture told me to replace the tyre (after seeing these lot many puncture).

If there is no option, I have to replace tyre from MRF (Zapper S1 category, cost 3K bucks apprx.).

Does anyone have same exp or I'm only..

Man i too had a lot of punctures (3 to be precise) within a month of ownership..
                  I too filled 28 front 32 rear....
But the mechanic told me to fill 32 front 35/36 rear...
Now it's been 5 months without any punctures...
One of my relatives with pulsar 180 fills 35 front 40 rear(that's a Overkill)
Though ride is hard but i can manage it ..
Have the rear suspension softened with cbr 250 tool to counter that...
Overall handling remains same as before...
                  Hope this helps brother

Sorry to hear about puncture incidents. It will be frustrating when bike tyre gets puncture. 15 punctures or 3 punctures in a month is too much. One puncture every three to six months is totally acceptable. Because, I hardly came across 5 punctures in my last 12 years of riding/driving.

Also, I heard some roads are prone for punctures due to some miscreants throwing tack nails (attaching image as well) purposely on the road. Stretch between HSR layout and Sarjapur here in Bengaluru is notoriously known for that.

Please avoid those roads where you frequently get punctures as you will not be able to catch those idiots who does this.
Also, please note that never ever over inflate your tyre. It could be dangerous. Please keep the company specified pressure 25F/25R or 25F/29R(will pillion) or a point or two more if you do not trust the pressure gauge. You will loose out on grip as well as the ride will be harder.

In motorbeam review, they said hornet consumes electricity through bike's engine which affects bike's overall performance. But Gixxer and FZ draw DC current.
Any idea why Honda went with this design?

And still hornet is costliest! Yesterday in the rain I couldn't see anything as headlight throw was null! I was riding at speeds of 25 and riding along with some slow moving trucks. It's that bad! Add heavy rain to that as well in Mumbai..

The stock 35W bulbs are pretty weak.
Either you upgrade to OSRAMs or you put aux lamps. Search the thread for more info.
