Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It is OK but you can slightly increase the idle rpm.Originally posted by Sourav Choudhury View PostHi, to me engine sound seems normal, don't know what will happen after first service. Clocked only 70 km. Do you have any idea about the rear disc issue for CBS variant. It has much less bite than a drum brake and have to push hard. Will it change? Is there anything I can do about it now?
For now I am keeping the bike under 5000 rpm in all gears. Is it required to regularly go to 5th gear during break in?
My idle rpm in the morning is 900-1000 rpm, once the engine is hot it is 1050-1150 rpm. Is this okay? After starting te engine with kick first time in the morning, the engine stops couple of times and have to kickstart it again. After few times it's ok. Is this normal?
My dealer said that owner's manual will be provided after registration. That's why have no idea.
Please reply.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
No fantasy. It is real. Some Honda mechanics will tell you what to do like I have learnt to open the Hornet side cover from a Honda mechanic. I have known him since 2005 of my Unicorn days. You will have to befriend them for your advantage if you are a DIY guy. I am from Guwahati and now I am not certain whether ASC mechanics of your place are friendly or not.Originally posted by Suddy View PostOh I see. Ok, I'll learn more about trim clips and the others. Thanks a lot! Btw, who's the friendly Honda mechanic? Fantasy guy?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
The initial position of fuel screw was when the bike could be started but combustion could not be sustained. I finally gave another half a turn counter-clockwise after that video. That was 2 full turns from the initial position I guess. Does the bike sound alright? Let me know, people, if I can/should modify.....
Also, can someone tell me how to fix back the trim clips? Do I hammer them or what? Anupam Das...?Last edited by Suddy; 12-23-2016, 06:41 PM.

It should go in. Remove, see for damage and if no damage is found, realign & refit again. And even then if it does not go in, try with a new one which should be available at ASC/parts dealer or consult a mechanic to get the job done.Originally posted by Suddy View PostWell, it didn't go in completely. Should I hammer it or something?

Just like that? It just slides in smooth? While removing, it was pretty hard...Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostIt should go in. Try another petrol pump.Originally posted by ramprasadkamineni View PostBack from a short 380kms ride and here are my observations
1. Bike feels smooth at 80-85 speeds on shell ax7 when compared to the 10-30 Honda mineral oil
2. Braking is excellent, almost crashed a pig at 70ish speeds, thanks to the brakes
3. Bike takes its own time to reach 80kmph, specially from 60-80kmph
4. Overtaking is a big letdown on a 2 lane highway with moderate traffic
5. And I only got 37kmpl, mileage problem is there right from the beginning
Should get the carb tuned in near future

Just try to understand how the trim clip works by having a good look at it after removal. Also watch the YouTube tutorials of trim clips carefully. I did not face any problems.Originally posted by Suddy View PostJust like that? It just slides in smooth? While removing, it was pretty hard...

Ok, well, what do you think? Two turns of the fuel screw is too much? Maybe I should reduce it a bit?
