Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
7100 is actually good. Quite a few Hornet riders are using it and are satisfied with it.Originally posted by ZZR1 View PostWanted to know as to which oil is the best for Hornet. Was planning to use Motul 7100, but see that it does not suit the vehicle. I guess Honda Synthetic would not be available outside of service centres.
Anyone tried Shell Advance/Helix?
Shell advance ultra too is good, but there's not much of a difference between 7100 and this oil.
I've tried both these oils on my Unicorn 160, and both were good, but not much of a difference.

Cheers👍
Should i ask the dealer to provide it? Had any other Hornet owners not received the tools from the dealer?

Guys, what's warranty period of Hornet? Last time I was charged 100 rs for replacing rusted carburetor spring.
I bought bike in Feb. So should this have been free right?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
The tool kit is placed just in front of the seat locking mechanism for Hornet. The dealer might not have given you and it might be an un-intentional mistake. If your bike is new and not many days have elapsed since you got it, you can politely request the dealer to provide it. But the company provided tool kit is virtually useless.Originally posted by AntonyRinaldo View PostI don't have any tools tuck in under the seat.

Am not sure what tools Honda provides in the tool kit but:
1. The +/- screwdriver there is only useful for changing indicator bulbs that have fused. If one uses it on the bigger Phillips screws, they will get stripped/damaged.
2. Spark plug wrench is useful only if you remove/clean/adjust the spark plug yourself.
3. The wrench used to adjust the rear shock works - but the stock setting suits most.
4. All other tools - mostly open-ended or "C" type spanners are virtually useless - Either they will break if you attempt open the wheel's axle nut or will damage the nut itself.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi guy's,
Good day,
I am from Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu, I asked a show room here for hornet on road price, the sales manager said the special edition std is96k and cbs is 103k, I checked on websites it shows, 91k and 96k , I showed that to dealer, he said it is old price, Now the price is increased is it true, or not,

I suggest you enquire in other showrooms locally. Dealers do overprice like this in our locality too. There are two Honda showrooms in Nagercoil, may be you can check them also.Originally posted by kavin View PostHi guy's,

Here is a case for my cousin. He went to buy Apache160 and one of the dealer surprised us with the pricing chart relevant to the bike colour you choose(yellow colour 3000₹ extra[emoji38] ). Don't just trust on their words....
Update your final result here bro... I am also planning to buy soon.
Gud luck.Last edited by Armi_2015; 12-16-2016, 03:45 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
INSURANCE RENEWAL
My Hornet is completing 1 year of service. My insurance will expire on 22 Dec 2016... I got a renewal reminder letter from my current insurer (new gen insu co), (purchased from my Dealer ) with Rs.1965 after deducting 20 % NCB. IDV was Rs.68599.. I made some internet search & purchased policy from Oriental Insu Co. through "Coverfox". I paid Rs 1468 as premium and IDV of my vehicle is Rs.75,900.Total process took only 5 minutes and Policy Certificate & Schedule received within 15 minutes in my email Id. Saved around Rs. 500/- as premium and Rs 7300/- on IDV. . This is the simple example of "customer exploitation"on vehicle insurance.Last edited by Remesh Augustine; 12-16-2016, 04:12 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Try again & you will touch at least 110 kmph if there is no wind from the opposite direction. I also faced similar situations but after giving another try on another day I could touch 112 kmph with seemingly more to go. Post 76 kmph in 5th gear engine sound changes, becomes rough, vibrates much unlike Unicorn & does not feel that good.Originally posted by Suddy View PostYou're replying to my quote on 'vibrations' elaborating on the power. How's it even relevant? Secondly, I'm talking about 70-80 at 5th gear. What would that be? About 6k rpm? Now, if I were to take it to the redline at every gear, I'll be sacrificing whatever peaceful ride I enjoy as I shift below 5k rpm. Also, the bike will get too loud.
Plus my run in period is not yet over(well, according to manual, it's done, but according to many people here, it needs to run another 1k km or so), but I still tried reaching a 110, and unfortunately came upto only a 104 at full throttle.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey friends, I had issues with my Hornets engine which the ASC replaced they changed the Crank shaft & piston cylinder kit . Post which I had been using it carefully for about 500 km . Today I tried taking it to about 80kmph and its taking own sweet time with full throttle . At times when I try accelerating fast it feels like no fuel for 2-3sec and then it slowly picks up . This is something I have noticed post I got my bike back from ASC . What you guys think ?
