Wonderful. So much perplexion in a simple thing....😟Originally posted by Kos View Posthaha phew...
u can just check it out at some other air filling guy... just to double check. because radial tyres do not physically show much deformation due to low pressure, but internally they are getting damaged...

Although, I agree these kind of tyre won't show physically on low pressure and internal damage.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Thank you so much brother. I suddenly had a bad feeling after I read your quote. You were right. I checked at two different stations. The pressures in the front and rear tyres were 35 and 40 psi! And that bloody machine in the first station showed just 15! I would've taken my bike for a 70km ride, thank God, something else came to my notice and I dropped that idea. But I would've ridden atleast 2kms with the excess pressures. God knows what damages have already taken place. To think that I just tipped that guy Rs.10 in the first station!Originally posted by Kos View Posthaha phew...

ur right, i checked. the hornet has nylon tyres. which would mean it is even less capable to accept abuse than radials...Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostBut we don't have radial tyre.. do we?

its ok my friend. your tyres can take a little bit extra pressure. pressures routinely go as high as 36-37 when the bike has been ridden hard and the tyres are warm (or on a sunny day on the road)Originally posted by Suddy View PostThank you so much brother. the pressure should ideally be checked when you have just left from home/work/anywhere u might have stopped long enough for the tyres to have cooled down...
but yes, 40 psi is not good either...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Wait, what?! You mean those were the pressures when my tyres were hot? I didn't fuel up at the stations, I directly went to the air compressor section. That means I didn't cool down my tyres 😨. Now my tyres are running with lower pressures? For God's sakes, not again! 😧😤Originally posted by Kos View Postur right, i checked. the hornet has nylon tyres. which would mean it is even less capable to accept abuse than radials...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Does using Motul oil have any positive effect? Are the gear shifts comparatively smoother now?Originally posted by windsong View Post1500 km update------
Covered 1500 km.Here is my observations:
First the good ones--
1)This bike seriously needs a sixth gear.Had there been a sixth gear this bike would has been a absolute gem for highway cruising.Still a very good highway cruiser in between 80-90 kmph, with occasional blast to 100 kmph.
2)Ride quality is fantastic.I often go to my village(60km one way).14 km(one way) of the road is tarred but not well maintained. And the bike just glides over this section of the roads. And what I hear is just the sound of the engine nothing else.
3)Brake,brake & brake. The brake set up in the CBS version is simply awesome.
4)The look--the brawny look gets lot of praises.
Then the bad one---
1)Pleople who likes the top end must not choose this bike in this segment. There are better options at this price point.
2)The headlight is a very poor link of this bike---both spread & brightness. Those who need/love powerful headlight shouldnot choose this bike.
3)This bike deserves more power.
4)Shift quality should have been better.
5)Paint quality over the welded portions of the body is really really poor and is prone to surface rust.I have painted all those portions myself.Never expected such a poor finish from HONDA.This is my first HONDA two wheeler after 18 years of riding and I am literally shocked after seeing those rusting.
6)Paint quality of the middle panel(painted in bright grey for all the sheds) is third class. It gets a paint rub off(not scratch) at slightest of unwanted sharp contacts.
7)Switch gears ---- already discussed by many.
8)Brake fluid container for the rear brakes should have been hidden behind the middle panel. It(the container) looks odd and also unsafe as it is more prone to damage outside.
What mods I have done--
1)Replaced the front two parking lights with Osram leds.
2)Replaced the rear number plate light with PHILIPS Ultinon Led(6700k).
3)Did my first service at 830 km and change the oil @900 km to MOTUL 4T 5100 (10W30).Will change the oil again at 3000 km with the same MOTUL grade..
There are more bads than the good ones.So am I satisfied with my bike?NO.It's a Honda and should has been better.I think the new GIXXER with rear disc & FI is a better choice----my personal opinion.
This is all for now folks.Thanks.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It's the best app! Even I'm thinking of using synthetic oil.Originally posted by Suddy View PostHow many of you are using the app version of xbhp? 🙃
Can we fill up synthetic over existing mineral? Or it needs to be drained and then synthetic only.
Other than motul which other synthetic oil is goodLast edited by vaRider; 09-20-2016, 12:39 AM.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Forgot to mention another mod-----replaced headlight bulb with OSRAM NIGHT RACER PLUS-----bought from ebay.

First the second question---yes,it's a direct fit.Originally posted by vaRider View PostThanks! Can you please post the throw of headlight on dark and city roads after installing these?

am not revving it above 5 rpm.. will it effect engine in long term

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Shouldn't be. I have touched 85 for a second and RPM was Nearing 6200. That was just for a short duration else I am also keeping at 5000 RPMOriginally posted by Duke1990 View Postam also doing the same thing... but have not touched 100 KMPH mark...

First things first. Please type in "full English sentences" and avoid typing with excessive periods like hi.... bye.... hello....Originally posted by Duke1990 View Postam also doing the same thing... but have not touched 100 KMPH mark...

No SMS lingo here please. All your posts until now have shorthand annotations used and it is annoying.
Secondly, how much RPMs you vary depends upon the ODO. Let's assume you have done 500 km on the ODO, you can very well take the bike to 5-6k RPM once in a while. Just avoid abrupt transitions and that's it.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!
