The rear tyre pressure is supposed to be 25psi for single rider and 29psi for an added pillion weight. What if I ride with a pillion only sometimes? Should I set the pressure to an average of 27psi..?

        Even i have same scene
Keep it 25 only since you ride solo most of the time. Otherwise, your ride will be very bumpy and rough.

          Hi Friends,

I have some queries on my CB Hornet 160R (Std). I've completed 1000KM within 10 days, and first service done at Autofin, Hyderabad. The bike was very smooth before first service. In that first service, they changed engine oil and refilled with 900ml Honda oil, but they charged for 1000ml. Apart from that, the showroom guys told me that is enough to run it upto 2nd service.

          1. How much engine oil to fill in the term between 1st - 2nd service?. If any well known person please suggest me.
          2. I've notified that the engine making some abnormal noise (I'm thinking it was the noise of chain). I cannot guess it correctly as i am always riding with helmet.
          3. The gear shifting is still hard and when I am in traffic, many times to goes to neutral when gear shifting to UP.
          4. The rear Tyre mud guard near the shock was too small and that area is fill with full of mud. Is there any chance to add additional mud guard like FZ V2 ?
          5. Before first service I've rode it on high way and city, It gave me 57 kmpl average. Now it is only upto 48 Kmpl (mostly in city, max speed 50kmph). Why that much difference. I am thinking that insufficient engine oil may cause?

Please answer my queries. Now I'm running on 1400Km, The bike was purchased on Aug 5th 2016 .
          Thanks in advance.

Done first service today. was just 800kms, but the chain was loose and making sound very badly.

now it's tightened ,sound is there ,,but negligible and getting little more response and power.
Loving part, gear shifting become extra smooth.

Please suggest me correct color spray paint to paint my helmet friends , mine is sports red

I found Sporty red paint for honda, and sports red paint for hero. Help me to choose..

              Engine vibration test #101

              RPM(x1000) - Observation

              5.5 - A slight tingling sensation
              6 - Percieveable vibrations
6.5 - Strong vibes in hands and legs
7 - Vibes reach uncomfortable levels
7.5 - Entire body starts rocking back and forth
8 - Could be an 8 on the Ritcher scale

Someday, I'm gonna flood this bike with FS oil and see if that works!

You rode 9600 kms without chain adjustment?
Routine services done at Honda ASC (EVM Kakkanad Kochi) at 1000 Km & 6000 KM. Hope they did the job during Services. No sound produced from chain. But after 9000 km chain was little "loose" . I went to new Honda ASC inaugurated last week in my village , (yes Village , thanks for expanding Honda service centres in Rural Kerala) Purackal Honda Kuravilangad. Chain adjusted for Rs.1. .... Already got two phone calls from their customer relation executives, and enquired about my satisfaction about their job.... I was surprised about it... call from a two wheeler dealer about their service... I never expect... Thanks Honda

You should check for slack every 1500 kms or so. Its not difficult, its listed in the manual in all likelihood. See if there is recommended slack and if too tight or too lose either adjust it yourself or take it to the ASC.

Those are really long intervals for an unadjusted chain to be running through which might explain all these vibration posts over here. A tight or loose chain is also a vibration source. This is why I always ask people to atleast sit through the owner's manual once before they start riding their new vehicle. Maintenance tips are all in there.

                          Killer looks with Honda Reliability.

Regarding Run In, currently I am maintaining RPM under 5000 and speed to 55. Pls advise if its correct.
                          Congratulations at first place.

Well engine run in is wrongly taken
I got my bike , the next day I was doing speeds between 60 to 80. Avoided sudden acceleration.
Before first service clocked 115 (only once)
Bottom line .. avoid constant speeds. Maintain shifts within 5k. Rev your bike through all the range. It won't affect the engine. Here I make a point don't Rip it. Gentle acceleration and using the rev range.

Is there anyone who completed 2 or 3 services and recommending this bike as a long term bike? Does it have any problem?? I want a long term bike. Confused with Hornet and Gixxer!!

If you need fun in riding get a Gixxer. If You care about Mileage and better after sale service networks then get a Hornet. Both have more or less same power and torque. Gixxer shows the peak in lesser RPM while Hornet shows the peak in little higher RPM.
