This happens if while breaking you don't downshift to correct gears. Mainly happens when coming to stop from 5th gear. At such time it gets locked.

Worst thing is when gear gets locked on 2nd. Happened with me few times.

    Don't worry. Not big thing.

I also faced this issue some times. It got smooth after 2nd service. No need to wary.

My Hornet CBS completed 9600 Km ... no such issue ...used to lubricate with Motul chain lube in every 800-1000 km and working without any complaint. But now its the time for chain adjustment due to little slackness.

                Hello Everyone!
First of all,I am new to this forum, and going a buy a Hornet 160 std soon in Hyderabad,I have taken quotations from a few dealers near my area, and I have some doubts after reading this quotations,it would be great if anyone could help me out:
1-Life time tax in Hyderabad is 9%,which comes to 7362 of ex showroom price of 91795,but all dealers are quoting 7860..why is it so?
2-can we buy insurance from outside instead of the dealer,700 extra from showroom
3- dealers are also quoting 800-1000 for permanent registration charges, arent we supposed to pay this in the RTO?
                4-is teflon coat worthy?
5-one authorized service centre quoted only 76k for std version,is it a good idea to buy from ASCs?

                Happy Riding

Do you use SAE 80 gear oil or Motul/3M chain lube?
                    Which is better
Honda ASC uses very think lube and it lasts for long time..

                      1. Not sure.
                      2. Yes, you can buy insurance outside. But they insist that, showroom will take care of insurance thing.
                      3. Permanent registration is not required through showroom. It's easy job in HYD. You just need from A28 (If I am right). They should provide you free. Only hussle with own registration is you need to stand in line for once and registration card will be send to your home address.
                      4. It fine to have. Make little scratches go away and prevent from it.
                      5. That's strange. What was final quote from them?

Something is fishy! That price is too low. I suggest you triple check what's going on. I think dealer is trying to sell a damaged bike to you.

Please cross check with Honda's website & other dealerships.

Yes,even i am having the same thoughts,By the way it is an authorized service centre that is keeping new activas and a few hornets, shines etc in stock,I should probably stay away from them.
