Absolutely Nothing. If it doesn't start, kick and then let it run for 30 seconds to one min. And ur good to goOriginally posted by vaRider View PostWhen bike is not used for 2 weeks, what all things to do on next run

Dude it might be the carb settings. Tell the ASC to adjust the carbsOriginally posted by vaRider View PostHas anyone figured it out, why hornet stalls in 1st gear

I sold my bullet to prevent rust. As you'll see from my previous post even i'm facing rusting issues but one call to the main office sorted all that. Royal enfield is the worst quality bike ever made. Trust me. And KTM forks leak oil like a tap.Originally posted by vaRider View PostExactly! Build quality is questionable..😔😕. Really frustrated owner 😢😭😬Sometimes I regret buying Honda if not for reliable engine.
People are still using their 10 year old unicorn without any issues. But with hornet, even 5 years will be more than enough.
After 5 years, may be I'll go with KTM, Yamaha or Royal Enfield.

Sorry guys I have been away for a while. Just added a Harley street to my collection of Motorcycles
Anyways updates on my dear beloved hornet. This sunday, my triumph owner's group had a breakfast ride to zanzari falls near ahmedabad in gujarat. I decided to take the hornet along as I have 4300 kms covered after my first service and wanted to complete as many i could before the second service.
I kept up with two rocket 3's, three bonevilles and a thunderbird (triumph not royal enfield). Average speed was 100 with me catching up at 115 sometimes. I have the CBS variant which is the saving feature at such high speeds.
The road to the falls is muddy and filled with slush and the hornet is the only bike that could tackle those roads with ease. Superb, extremely easy to handle. I even took it off road on rocks and in knee deep water.
PHOTOS TO FOLLOW AS THEY ARE IN MY PHONE.
Basically, I made the triumph guys jealous although my uncle was on our bonneville.
No service done till now. Like ive said before, i only service as per the manual, which means at 6000kms without changing oil. And FYI i'm still using the stock honda mineral oil. Japanese engineering at its finest.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello everyone. This is my first post. I purchased Red HORNET (CBS) on 15th August and have done 820 km till today. I spent about an hour reading each post in this thread. It was very informative and interesting.
I feel privileged to be a member here.
I wanted to ask if there's something which I should ask the serviceman to do specifically, based on your experience with the service? Something which they forget usually?
Also, should I go for honda throttle oil?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Nothing specific to work upon in first service, just make sure what is written in the 1st service coupon is followed and don't go on honda throttle oil so soon, you are still in run-in period, you are better off with mineral oilOriginally posted by sharmasrb View PostHello everyone. Very good. Do let us know how the motor perform and your experience. Very commendable to defy existing norm and sticking to manual regarding drain interval.Originally posted by darthvader_omi View PostNo service done till now. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I am planning to get a used hornet from dealer.. km is less than 3k kms. Dealer is saying no manual book is available. This I assume it as "no service record". Dealer is quoting 75k as price. Should I take it?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
This thread is very useful for me in decision process and will be during ownership process. Thank you All.
I took delivery of my green Hornet CBS Dial disk yesterday. It looks great. I got many second looks from other riders. It was great feeling. Also one inquired where did I get these stickers. He was hornet owner and wanted it.
It would be great if there was gear indicator. Headlamp seems ok but nothing great for this price
Along with extended warranty as Accessories I took grip, coating and puncture coolant (PC). Total cost around (104K)
Gear Shifts are bit hard but I am new to 1-N-2-3-4-5 pattern and will get used to it soon. There is some sound from shock absorb (rear) specially on bumps and speed breakers. It is more with pillion and less when I am alone. It is fading as I am riding more and more. Is it common?
I will get service book in 2-3 days. Run in period is 1000KM right? Apart from driving < 40kmph is there anything I should follow in run in period?
Also in some posts I saw people fitting Unicorn 160 footstep to Hornet. Dealer says it is not compatible. Is it the case?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Did you test ride bike? Unless there's major issue with bike none will sell bike so earlier. Please have it checked thoroughly and get all documents. Manual is must as you need to have service record for warranty claim in future, else you'll have to pay hefty expenses.Originally posted by kgb01 View PostI am planning to get a used hornet from dealer.. km is less than 3k kms. My suggestion would be to go for brand new HornetRide hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Definitely. Till now its performing normally. I did have to tighten the chain around 3500km which the service center did for 50 bucks. Apart from that I am still riding it today with 4800km and no oil change. I ride 65kms daily as my office is 30kms away. So i'm on the highway at 80kmph daily.Originally posted by Dccet View PostVery good. Do let us know how the motor perform and your experience. 1. Run in period is 1000kms after which u service.
2. There is no specific precaution during running in. Just don't maintain a constant speed and rpm. Keep varying the rpm.
3. Don't do fast acceleration. But you need to raise the revs as it is necessary the engine goes through higher revs
4. Get the sound checked. Ideally its just the spring releasing energy but make the ASC mechanic sit behind and check.
5. You can even fit the FZ saree guard

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I went for test ride. Engine was smooth as one would expect. Coming from a 12 year old victor, I couldn't even tell whether engine was on. Gear was smooth but I am not accustomed to 1 down 5 up gearing. Need to get used to this as almost all 150 cc bikes have this except for v15.Originally posted by vaRider View PostDid you test ride bike? Checked the documents. Everything was in order. Surprisingly owners manual was also there with first service coupon torn up(thats the way dealer uses the coupons I believe).
Bike is still in showroom condition except for some scratches on exhaust cover.
Strangely, I observed some scratches on engine. Any suggestions? Should I walk away due to this?

Demand a different piece. This unit seems to have many irregularities. Dont accept the delivery.Originally posted by kgb01 View PostI went for test ride. Engine was smooth as one would expect.
