I have done my breakin exactly like this. (On hornet and uni 150).
    My breakin is completed.
But Still i am in low kms and monitoring my bikes mileage and performance. And so cannot conclude on this method or recomend any one to do this.
I will post detailed review of this method after few more 100 kms on my bike.
One thing is this method has to be understood thoroughly (devil is in details) and very carefully implemented.
Otherwise it would be better not to do this as it would do more harm if not correctly implemented.

I haven't tried this method yet. Possibly a mechanically sound person can break it down..

I've been monitoring my hornet performance and acceleration for last 3500 km. It's been improving after 2nd service! During power band of 5500-8500 I see same power surge and I can easily accelerate to 105. Even progress to 116 is like 1 per second.

In terms of engine grinding noise at 70-85 KMPH, it is still there but engine vibrations have gone down. Before that bike literally used to vibrate a lot on that speed.

Regarding mileage I can see that on highway high speed run 80-100 most of the time for 200 km on 270 km trip, I observed around 5 liters of fuel. Which comes to about 54 kmpl. Considering errors in fuel calculation, let's take it as 48-50 kmpl.

It's possible but the thing is, bikes built for Indian standard usually don't have such techs used in big bikes such as materials, separating power and drivetrains, etc. Afaik, the key to good run in is to maintain optimal temperature which is not easily possible in air cooled vehicles. These methods are possible mainly for liquid cooled ones. For air cooled vehicles, it depends on the temperature the engine is exposed to. Many i know have done run in this way on pulsars and apaches and while most were ok, some had issues. For my bike, I used mixed style with gentle throttling but higher speeds (upto 7k Rpm) before first service. The engine still sounds as good as new and runs great. But I change oil when engine was rough(1-1.5k kms). Just ride the bike normally without heavy throttling and it should be enough considering it's a "Honda" engine.

HID and LED both offer improved performance than halogen bulbs. Both, if adjusted properly can illuminate really well. LED cost more, HID cost more and are bulky with the kit they have to be installed. Most LEDs, for the most part are plug and play and are comparatively cheaper than HID.

              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

              THE END

People.. the throw of head lamp really sucks. i have to use pass light whenever i loose visibility at night.

Is there any viable method to address this ? I am less worried about voiding warranty.

                    Hello fellow riders,
I have been riding honda unicorn for last 2.5 years. Last April I went on Mumbai-Goa road trip
Felt a need to upgrade since cruising 100 something speeds is not really a possibility on unicorn.
Was considering pulsar as200, but thaught of maintenance cost is keeping me grounded.
Would you consider hornet a good highway cruiser capable of doing 100+ speeds all day.
Or would you say gixxer sf is the answer.
Pulsar as200 ticks all the right boxes also it fits into my budget of around 1 lakh.
But having been warned about expensive maintenance I am holding back on going for it.
                    My requirements are
                    1) Decent commuting capability.
                    2) 100+ KmPh touring capability.

RTR200 is a superb city bike but i also intend to do a fair bit of touring.
for which i dont think rtr is very much suitable, considering lack of 6th gair and tvs giving most of juice in low and mid range.
Initially i wanted to go for Karizma R, but hero has ****ed up a very good machine IMHO.
Also considered going for a pre-worshipped '13 karizma.
but dont prefer to go for a used one

Thanx for a prompt reply, if you know would you let me know what's routine maintainance cost for pulsar AS200 is.
Like regular stuff for a 200CC liquid cooled which my 150CC air cooled doesnt need.
what is ballpark figure i should be prepared to spend apart from fuel cost..?

I own a rtr200 & trust me u will not feel any requirement of 6th gear in this bike... I would say take a test ride of it... & U will know wat m talking abt.. & as far as top end is concern u can do 110+ all day long widout any problems & many ppl have touched around 140+ on this one. U can checkout some YouTube videos also.
