Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
If you have a trusted mechanic it would be good option.. coz you would not have access to your bike in ASC .. Also carborator is something that might take a number of attempts to adjust accurately at times.. So take your callOriginally posted by Suddy View PostIs the ASC better at tuning(readjusting, more specifically) the carburetor or should I just visit my local mechanic?

I usually get all my repairs done with a mechanic. I trust him in the sense that he'd return my bike in one piece....I donno if he knows stuff and all...Originally posted by Abhik1 View PostIf you have a trusted mechanic it would be good option.. coz you would not have access to your bike in ASC .. I have done 5000 kms in 10 months.
Please listen to above audio and let me know if something is bad with engine... Please help...

In first why you are using kick when you were in traffic??Originally posted by Suddy View PostI'm hating this bike's kickstart more and more. Our 10 year old passion starts in one kick. I'm a fan of kickstart, and this one's got such a crappy one in place, it's more like a hindrance to starting the engine. In public places, i feel very embarrassing. I have this big muscular bike and people are quietly eyeing it and when I try to start it, it gives that sound when the ignition is turned off. 5 kicks, it doesn't start at all. Finally I had to thumb the electric starter and roll off while people were rolling their eyes. Such a let down. From a third person's perspective it would look like I don't even know how to kickstart a bike and yet I'm riding a Hornet! 😤😤

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Where have I mentioned traffic? But now that you mention it, I do use it in signals too(signals where there's a countdown to green). I just wanna keep off the electric start for emergencies. Maybe I'll drain my battery if I use it too much....Originally posted by gnan10 View PostIn first why you are using kick when you were in traffic??

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Problem is Hornets engine components are bit advanced .. even the small fuze is difficult to find and not available with ASC . The carb from what I have seen is not very easily accessible. You need to enter from battery side door .A local mechanic would take some time to understand for sure .Originally posted by Suddy View PostI usually get all my repairs done with a mechanic. I mean to say on roads. Near Signals and all use electric start. That's not wise idea to use kick everywhere. Electric start doesn't drain battery as bad as you thoughtOriginally posted by Suddy View PostWhere have I mentioned traffic? Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Don't worry this dent's are normal on honda and hero bikes . I had mine in karizma r 2014 edition . I went to the showroom to enquire about it they showed me it is present in all the models - I even went to the honda showroom their answer is same .

By any remote chance, do you live in Chennai? Or do courier services deliver bikes as a package domestically? 😂Originally posted by Rohan12I don't know is this process will work but I did on my Enfield 350 TB and Karizma(2014 sold off) and in both the cases the theory worked
Steps
1. CounterClockwise turn the RPM to 3000.
2. Clockwise turn the A/F ratio to the leanest possible - BUT DONT OVERTURN THE SCREW THE LEANEST AS THE ENGINE WILL DIE AND WONT START
3. Now after the turn to the lean position now hear the engine sound - it sounds like it is dieing.
4. Now at this moment turn the A/F screw to the COUNTERCLOCKWISE to 3 to 3.1/2 or 4 TURNS.
5. In this stage the engine will have steady beat - not like dieing.
6. Now hear for 10 sec to see that at this stage there is nor struggling/stuttering of engine.
7. If point 6 does not happens now turn your RPM screw in clockwise to reduce the RPM TO 1200/1000 RPM (Please go by the manufactured RPM)
8. At this stage the engine will sound normal like any bike.
9. Switch off and start after 15 sec.
10. Start your bike and go for a 10-20 km ride.
11. Here there will be two situation
11A. The RPM needle might be high as 2000 RPM - You have to lower down to 1000 RPM by clockwise.
11B. The engine will sound normal - NO need for tuning.
11C. After riding for 10-20 km you should read the spark plug colour - go for the spark plug colour chart - internet(google)
12. If your engine has the normal beat and the spark plug has the normal colour(chart of the net) then no need for tuning.
13. If your engine is lean(less pickup/struggling) or has high amount of carbon diposit(black soot) - then again follow the tune in porcess
It need trials and error to get the normal ratio of the a/f - I did it under 3 turns and got the desired effect - Now I am running for 2 years without any kind of problem - Karizma.

To Suddy - please look down for further info - 1A to 2B.

13. If your engine is lean(less pickup/struggling) or has high amount of carbon diposit(black soot) - then again follow the tune in porcess
1A. RPM Settings - Clockwise turn to decrease the needle from X to Y point on Tacho
1B. RPM Settings - Counter Clockwise turns to increase needle from Y to X Point on Tacho.
Example - 1A. If the tacho shows 2000 RPM then by the theory of clockwise it will go to 1000 RPM.
Now ----- 1B. If the tacho shows 1000 RPM then by the theory of counter clockwise it will go to 2000 RPM.
2A. Carburetor A/F - Clockwise from the X point to Y point results in lean mixture.
2B. Carburetor A/F - Countrclockwise from the Y point to X point results in rich mixture.
Example - 2A. A/F ratio - If we use the clockwise theory the turn from the the factory position or user position to the clockwise direction will result in lean mixture.
2B. A/F ratio - If we use the counterclockwise theory the turn from the factory position or user position or from the lean position will result in rich mixture .
This theory is suitable to all carburetor .
It need trials and error to get the normal ratio of the a/f - I did it under 3 turns and got the desired effect - Now I am running for 2 years without any kind of problem - Karizma.

Dude. Chill. It's one thing to hear instructions and another thing entirely to follow them. If you were in Chennai, I'd happily leave my bike with you. I've got zero practical knowledge. To rectify your post, I need to know something in the first place 😂Originally posted by Rohan12 View PostNo dude I live in kolkata . Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Ok what is that you want to know . If this was happening in the month of October 11th I could surely helped you cause I came to chennai on my TB 350 to view the mighty divine Tirupati . I stayed in Chennai for 4 days . Man I must say I was speechless to see the divine in the first place . It took me 6 hrs to reach Tirumala from Le Royal Meredian hotel CH . And the hair pin turns are awsome and scarry . I did not knew while going back there is a deer reserve !

Educate yourself on when to use the kickstart when you have an electric starter, all your issues will be solved.Originally posted by Suddy View PostI'm hating this bike's kickstart more and more.
