Though rear brakes don't stop any (non cruiser) bike and are meant to just add stability while braking, they should not appear entirely wooden when applied. There's a possibility that air is already in the brake lines. Get brake lines bled with new brake fluid, preferably DOT 4 (and above, if available).

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Just check the mileage once again. Else, get your carb tuning checked. Also what rpm are you shifting at?Originally posted by ramprasadkamineni View PostYes it is a one day ride
And yes I've calculated reserve to reserve basis which I usually do while calculating the FE
And 60-80speed, coming from ZMA and CBR may be I need to get used to it
Mileage was 38 on my previous trip

Checking one more time will not increase FE
I shift at 4.5rpmYamaha fzs (2009-2012)||Honda unicorn(2012-2013)|| Hero karizma R (2013 - 2016)||Honda CBR 250R(2016)||Honda Hornet(2016-Present)

Well I'm not aware of what your definition of many is :P but anyway get your carb tuning checked. Also shifting at higher rpm in 4th and 5th gears might improve your 60-80 situation a little.Originally posted by ramprasadkamineni View PostI've checked many times now

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey bro! Here from Nepal too. Hows your bike performing?? Especially in uphill condition with pillion?? I was gonna buy this bike but heard that it had faulty carb. So i have been checking this thread around here for sometime now. And hows the pickup?? Some of the people here say that the pickup is not really good. Do share your experiences. Cheers!

If you are more into with pillion and uphill I won't recommend this bike. Better go with bike with have little tall speed bracket in lower gears.Originally posted by Raveedh View PostHey bro! Hornet has really low bracket for lower gears 1st & 2nd. On hill area you need this, specially when you are riding with pillion.
I think any bike would struggle. You should go with higher power engines.
Fuel efficiency : I am getting 40Kmpl with pillion in city condition.
Yes, few of our fellow riders here, have issue with curb.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yea I guess it has a big issue with carb and would take an expert mechanic and good ASC to fix it . I am facing issues with engine heating and roughness after bike warms up in 4k rpm onwards in lower gears . Just had a word with a trusted mechanic in Ride Honda Hyderabad... Will b working on it tomorrow . Hoping to get things resolved.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostIf you are more into with pillion and uphill I won't recommend this bike. The mechanic in the asc has changed the needle jet in the carb
And everything is fine now
Part number starts with KFSYamaha fzs (2009-2012)||Honda unicorn(2012-2013)|| Hero karizma R (2013 - 2016)||Honda CBR 250R(2016)||Honda Hornet(2016-Present)

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Its not that I'm into uphill and pillion thing. You get like little uphill roads if you ride 30 to 35 kms outside the city(kathmandu city) area. And budget issue comes in if I start to consider the likes of higher power engines(since motorbikes cost almost double the price than that of India). Also many riders have fzv2 bikes(less power than the Hornet). That has held me back and has confused me on choosing the bike. Thanks for your reply! Bike would give jerks as if there is no petrol left when revvedOriginally posted by baymax View PostWhat exactly was the problem?

Till 4.5-5rpm bike would behave normal but after that if its revved it just refuses to go beyond
Added to that rpm used to come down very slowlyLast edited by ramprasadkamineni; 11-18-2016, 06:11 PM.Yamaha fzs (2009-2012)||Honda unicorn(2012-2013)|| Hero karizma R (2013 - 2016)||Honda CBR 250R(2016)||Honda Hornet(2016-Present)

Try Pulsar 150 Horn, Roots vibromini. Both are perfect and are used by some hornet ownersOriginally posted by sri.rtr160 View PostHi.. Anyone changed their stock horn?

Yes stock tyres are not good offroad. Should try michellin pilot streetOriginally posted by Khemchand Sure View Postbike skids off road...i have observed this grip is good but only on good tarmac, the tyre is not good for off road

Then it should not be issue. Take test ride. See what your instinct says.Originally posted by Raveedh View PostIts not that I'm into uphill and pillion thing. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
According to me you have two separate segments of bike in 160cc category one if you like milage and not much bothered about pickup and performance more like a commuter but a stylist one then Hornet is the answer. If you want to rev your bike and carry a pillion or even go triple seat also uphill you should go for Apache 160- 180. Apache is around 8k cheaper and 180 is also 4k cheaper . It may not be a great looker but man its fun to ride and overtake.Originally posted by Raveedh View PostIts not that I'm into uphill and pillion thing.
