I'm not a Hornet owner so I can only comment on what I overall feel of CBS, not specifically with Hornet. It's(CBS is) overrated and intrusive IMHO.

How many of you felt this? I have doubt that combi break will lock front disc too.
Hi Anoop
This is what I observed.
When the bike was new. application of rear brake alone I use to feel both the wheels getting locked something similar to what is shown in the video.
But as time passed the combi braking efficiency is reduced and now I hardly feel the bite on front wheel and even if we apply full force on rear alone it is hard to lock both the wheels. And along with pillion it is more difficult to slow down the vehicle itself.

I have done 16 K kms till date got the rear brake pad replaced twice till now.
But still after getting the vehicle serviced from ASC I always get stupid explanations for this reduced braking efficiency.

.
These service centers always have some sort of explanation. Anyway, In my view rear break should be loose and should not cause lock on hard press.

I drive Hornet most of the times in city at cruising speed of say 70-90kmph and I find the brakes amazing(engine braking too) . You get a lot of times when you need brakes.
But CBS on the activa does make the braking tricky and the safe speed for Activa would be what 50-70kmph, here it does the job.

Hey!
I've driven about 600km on my Hornet. I'm seeing that after driving for about 30 minutes the engine gets a little hot and doesn't deliver power similar to when it's cold. It starts revving a lot at lower speeds. Anyone else facing this issue? Any suggestions?

P.S. My first service is not yet done.

Initial impression of Motul 300v (Full Synthetic Oil) 100Km+, my ODO is 8.4K

1. Vibration has reduced significantly
2. Gear shift getting smooth day by day
3. Engine is not getting hot - Earlier I was able to feel it a bit.
4. No grinding noise when hard raving - There was grinding noise while hard raving - specially it was noticeable at lower gear and high RPM.

Overall, bike is now amazingly smooth.

I have felt these glitches once or twice initially. Try to warmup well engine in morning.
If nothing serious, things will be smoothen out.

Bro!!! I have purchased both of them from the Shell petrol pump in my city. You can visit any of the shell petrol pump & tell them the name of both of them they will get them for you. I tried both of them before purchasing on my hornet since I requested them & they were courteous enough for the same.

Hope it helps.

Today i went to the ASC for washing of my hornet & i asked the senior mechanic about when should i change to FS oil since my daily run is very high & i cover up kms very fast & he told that after 2000 kms you can switch to FS but only from honda & not third party... i am planning to switch to FS from honda in my second service.

Kms on the odo is :2150 kms.

I still have doubt about switching to FS so early ... This is my first bike & i have no idea of how FS works & should i be switching from mineral oil???

Plz help

ofcourse they will suggest to Honda only. Additional reason is warranty. One of our senior fellow here, (I guess he is driving CBR250) confirmed that.
FS is more fluid and costly.
Mineral oil is less costly and disposable.
Full Synthetic is more fluid, better lubricant and longer running period.
Idea of getting at least > 5K ODO on mineral oil is to well brush the engine. You can say finer version of of engine Break-in.

In above post, Anupam is moved to Honda FS from 1st service. It's up to you.

I don't know if this is the case with me alone.
From the first service onwards I have been noticing that the ASC has always used throttle oil which is claimed as fully synthetic by Honda.
I do not see any warranty issue with this. As ASC itself uses CBR throttle.

Using Honda Throttle FS will not void warranty. But according to them if you use different oil, it will void. It does make sense according to manufacturer, like if you use Sony charger in Samsung even if both are of same grade.

As I know, Suzuki recommends Motul. Then how can using Motul will void warranty, if used in Honda bikes. It's just manufacturer to keep people on in-house product.

Anyway, after 1000Km of oil change. It's all black. They can't able to guess which oil has been used
