                Hi guys
I got my hornet mars orange on 1st March 17 and gave it to first service after 868km. After the first service engine started heating after a drive of 20kms, i never felt this before the first service. Also i am hearing the screeching noise of my rear disc while braking at lower speeds (<20kmph). I going to take the bike to service center again tomorrow so what will they probably do ?

Your ODO is only 3900km. It is advisable to change to FS after 6-8K ODO. You bike is old enough now to go for some stress test.
Are you doing following once in a while to make engine better and gets it potential -
                      1. A little high speed (30-40) at lower gear 1st and 2nd. .
                      2. Go for 80Kmph speed in 4th gear.
                      3. How many times you crossed 100Kmph.

FS oils are too smooth and will not brush your engine further. Get your engine full potential before switching to FS.

You are in warranted period, if bike is too rough in bracket of 70-85Kmph even after running for many times. There might be issue and service center should resolve.
If you are asking to change to FS ask them not to change oil while servicing but strictly in front of you.

Yes, you can do it. Any nearby shop or even you can change it without any hassle.
As you said my bike is ready for stress test. So today i put a lot stress to my bike. I mean in morning as you said try to extend 4th gear upto 80kmph but i did upto 68-70kmph on 4th while goin to college , some oil burning like smell was coming when i reached to college.

And also when now i am just goin to market almost 15-20kms of run. I again try to stress and extend speed limits like :-
                      1]17kmph @ 1st gear(lot of noise and vibes).

                      2] 30kmph @ 2nd gear (noise and vibes started from 26kmph).

3] 50kmph @ 3rd gear (noise was ther) And when i came home now my engine was as hot as lava my dad said what you did and how you ride it?

so is it a bad sign? I dont want my bike to be damage It was too hot. I am trying all things to get my bike smoother but dont know what am lacking.

"" I think i must ride it as a short end gearing rather than stressing it inorder to get top end gearing"".

That might be, or it may be because thi is first time you are stressing.
If you have some other friend with Hornet compare with them and take to service center and do the test to show there is something wrong. Also check if engine oil is proper and and in good condition.
Also, check with some knowledgable mechanic they will tell you exactly if there is any issue and you can pressurize ASC in can there is something wrong.

75-80kmph 4rth gear should not be any issue or too much stress.
Do you warmup engine in morning?
Everyone should do it atleast 30sec warmup on idle, or with little rev if engine is stalling.

                            I was bit disappointed..
                            But don't know how!
After 1st service, my bike become super smooth and no roughness. I can't even hear engine sound while wearing helmet.

When the gauge starts blinking, i usually refuel. But, last time when it started blinking, I opened the tank. There where a little left! 1.7L is the reserve capacity. But the remaining looked like just 300-400 mL.
                              .
Why it still running in Main/On valve setting at a very low fuel level?
                              .
Is my bike's reserve not working?

I actually went to showroom for a Unicorn 150/160 because my friends have those, they are getting 50-60km/l.
But after seeing hornet, i changed my mind. Now i regret my decision due to the poor mileage. Barely getting 40 km/l.
                              .
But i still loves it due to the size & looks. Its a perfect bike for me (Not in mileage).
                              Milage issue solved..
                              After 1st service, i m getting 50-55 km/l range.
                              Before that just, 35-40.
Also, the engine became so smooth.
                              Enjoying the ride.
                              Thanks guys.
