It's okay for me. But my friend is getting 55 km/l. That's made me think something is wrong in my bike.
    Is it 45 km/hr or 45 km/litre?

Hi, today i got my bike from svc and it was the second free servicing. When i received my bike i was feeling quit hard to rev and i was also feeling noise n vibes as soon as i received my bike from svc. And for 1st gear it was making noise . And rear break is now quite tight as compared to before servicing. Also it was little smooth before servicing but now i can feel that smoothness , Will it be fine after some days also pickup at first gear is less Like it starts vibrating and making noise @1st gear from 13km/hr onwards. What shall i do ? I want my bike to be smooth not grunty noisy.

        Thank you please help.

I had the previous Unicorn and I could start it in 2nd gear without breaking a sweat. Hornet would just give up. Similarly, at 5k RPM, Hornet would max out at like 30kmph in 2nd. I think this is short gearing.

            1. Vibes and difficulty in revving generally means engine oil degradation. So the service center guys probably changed your engine oil to something so bad that it was worse than your previously in-use (and used for 1k+ kms) oil.
            2. You shouldn't worry about tightness of brakes.
            3. Pickup can relate to engine oil, as well fuel quality. Let the current fuel dry out, fill some nice petrol and then check.

The first 2 gears feel short, but they're very tall. 1st gear goes to 50kmph and 2nd goes to 80kmph. This is comparable to the Duke 390s gearing.

Overall the gearing is very tall.

Starting from the 2nd gear is not good for the engine.

Then what shall i do about engine oil. Have they really used old oil? What shall i do? Shall i go again to svc again and tell the prob of feeling hardness while reving?

And which fuel shall i use , since you saying pickup is depends upon fuel quality

How you manage 1st gear upto 50kmph?

Simple. Give a lot of throttle.

And it will bring stress on engine

It will definitely stress the engine, which is why I wouldn't recommend doing it too frequently. I don't own the hornet.

I owned the unicorn 160, which had nearly the same gearing, plus I've ridden the hornet many times.
