Thanks for your reply brother.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View Post.
I have Combi-Break. Yes, front wheel is heavy to rotate, not fluid. If I rotate it get stopped after a while like something is biting.
Whereas, after chain clean and lube this time, my rear wheel is totally fluid to rotate by hand.
The rear wheel is not hard as the front wheel. I am gonna have my second service tomorrow. I will remind the mechanic about this and update it here.

Thanks for your reply.Originally posted by iamkrazee View PostHi, you're probably not getting answers because there is no quantifier for "very hard" nature of rotation of the front wheel.
Also, to answer your questions, I do not have the CBS version but my wheel spin seems very smooth. I have a friend who owns the same model, he also doesn't seem to face this issue.
You said you made your observation in comparison with your friends' bikes. Based on that, could you establish a relation of hard-to-spin with CBS only? That is to say, could you verify what the mechanic told you?
.My mistake..i should have given some measure to the hardness. Anyway i will try to make a video on the difference between the free spin and my hornet's hard spin, then people may understand the difference.

Sorry buddy, didn't mean to be condescending/rhetoric. My question still remain, is there anything else associated with the hardness? Could you establish a relation between hardness and rear disc brakes?Originally posted by AntonyRinaldo View PostThanks for your reply.

I just switched to Mobile-1 5w50 FS (@850kms), in accordance with my mechanic(auto engineer)'s best advice. The difference is unbelievable!Originally posted by gaurav71189 View PostRight! This the only FS oil I've seen in 10w30 grade is Honda Throttle. Most others are 10w40.
Notes about change process:
1) Did not use flush. Drained for 30 mins.
2) Used oil was as viscous as water when just extracted. Wasn't too hot. Didn't feel right.
3) I filled in 900ml of new oil and checked with dip-stick - not full. Added another 200ml - dip-stick showed full. That's 1100ml. Unlike the popular opinion of 1.2L
4) Measured the used oil - was little short of 800ml. Is this normal? Either the bike drank 300ml oil in less than 1k KMs or I'm missing something here.
Oil Review:
1) Second gear struggle in lower RPM ranges has completely disappeared - dramatically improved behavior in stop-go traffic.
2) Eagerness to rev - was completely missing earlier. Punch was satisfactory at 80kmph. Was lacking earlier, at 50kmph.
3) Vibrations are significantly less.
4) Heats less
5) Gear-shifting hasn't gotten softer to the extent I'd have expected (25% improvement ball-park). Other aspects changed for good in such magnitudes, that may be I'm over-expecting in this aspect. I suppose harder down-shifts are here to stay.
Overall extremely happy with this change.

What is total cost of your oil change. I think this oil only meant for cars.Originally posted by iamkrazee View Post

My 3rd service was recently done. And they wouldn't use the Honda Throttle oil cuz the bike was "under warranty". Anyway, I'll reconsider after 2k more on the ODO.

Ask the ASC to use Honda throttle in next service.Originally posted by ashisharia View PostMy bike is new @1200km ,when should I change to fully synthetic oil ? And can I change headlight with osram silver star without voiding warranty
Go ahead for the head lamp change it is a direct fit and it will not void warranty also.

Cost: 1500. I think as far as engine oil is concerned, car oil goes into bike oil as long as they're both 4-stroke. My friend who did this change for me is an automobile engineer, having worked in huge German auto-makers, both two and four wheelers. I don't generally argue with himOriginally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostWhat is total cost of your oil change. I think this oil only meant for cars.
.
However, the problem with these car oils is, the can comes in sizes of 1L or 4L. To pour in 1.1L, you need to buy 4L can. Unless you can share it among 3 similarly sized bikes.
Thank you! Their warranty is so overrated! But I suppose that it's subjective to want to stick to it or not.Originally posted by gaurav71189 View PostThat's great to hear [emoji106]

On that note, what all changes do you think are absolutely required once you're out of warranty?

Hehe..
I am not questioning your friend. Just wanted to know cost. Just to compare with different FS oils we can use in hornet.
While next oil change I will consider all options which are used by Hornet users.

I'm still observing closely, gears still don't feel buttery smooth (compared to another friend's FZ, on the same oil). Throttle-response seems to be improving.
Cool, TY! Since I've already done away with warranty, I'll go for headlamp change right away! Brake oil and the filters I'll upgrade at the end of the current ones' lives.Originally posted by Ananda View PostChange Head lamp, Change to FS oil. Change brake oil, Oil filter and air filter.
Will post an update here after upgrade.
I'm also thinking of changing the grab-rails (custom made), to have them in a single piece. Any reasons, you guys think/know of, why it should not be done?
