Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Then what is the use or advantage of those meaty tyres?Originally posted by vaRider View PostHornet official top speed is 106.
But one can reach greater top speed by aggressive gear shifting and holding hornet in top rpm range for longer.
It can reach 115 that way. If you hold throttle for even longer it may reach 120 on plain roads.
But due to meaty rear tyres, speed is limited compared to other bikes such as Hero Xtreme and Apache 160. Even Unicorn 160 runs at 110 easily.

Honda claims that the CBR150R has a top speed of 109 and 250R has a top whack of 135. Now we know both of them are much lower than what they can actually achieve.Originally posted by vaRider View PostHornet official top speed is 106.

And unicorn 160 struggles past 100. It takes an eternity to cross 110 and sometimes it doesn't cross 105.
The rear would be better off with a tyre having a rounder profile like Masseter.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-14-2017, 01:09 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Once on the highway, I was riding at 100 and Unicorn 160 zoomed ahead of me. So I guess it must be 110 or more.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostHonda claims that the CBR150R has a top speed of 109 and 250R has a top whack of 135. Must have been a top speed run by the unicorn. From what I've experienced the unicorn struggles past 100. That guy must have been ripping the bike.Originally posted by vaRider View PostOnce on the highway, I was riding at 100 and Unicorn 160 zoomed ahead of me. So I guess it must be 110 or more.
Zapper S1 has a flatter profile IMO. A change to Masseter/Pilot Street, etc. would result in better performance.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
18,000 km service done at EVM Honda ,Kakkanad , Kochi. Air filter (Rs. 134), Spark Plug (Rs. 139); Engine Oil (Rs. 294) changed. Annual Maintenance Contract for 1 year (Rs. 735) purchased and included in this service as 1 st service under AMC. Total cost for Service, spares and AMC only Rs.1376
... Service guy promised me that my chain will last upto next service at 24,000 Km,but I have some doubt about that.No sound from chain ,but adjustment mechanism reached at its end. Any way happy and joyful 18,000 Kms with my Hornet......Last edited by Remesh Augustine; 04-14-2017, 02:01 PM.

I suggest to check yours after 8K. It's just INR. 140/- from ASC.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
There is no relation between bs4 and Aho. Bs4 is completely dependent on engine and Aho is also implemented along with bs4 that don't mean all bs4 vehicles will have no headlight on switchOriginally posted by raghavac3 View PostIs hornet a really BS4 complaint engine as company advertised?.
In my RC card RTO registered it as a BS3 vehicle only, is this the same case with others?. I sent a mail to Honda regarding this but no reply as of now.
And also, I read today BS4 vehicles won't be having headlight on off switch, as soon as engine stars head light on automatically for all BS4 vehicles.

Still No switchgear update...
Its max power has now been reduced to 11.22kW from 11.68 kW (From 15.66 bhp to 15.04 bhp).
What does that change mean ?????
