I'll try to do same. I already have U5 led installed on leg guard [emoji2]
What about writing buddy? Do these led work well at 5W? Or did you add extra wiring for these 2Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

@ leech ..Thanks for the reply dude... i live in ahmedabad & temp here crosses 40c easily in summer so shell advance ultra would be a better choice but its only 4100 km on the odo... when should one change to FS??? Also what about the warranty ?? Will it get void??

If the Honda Svc comes to know that you changed the oil to another brand, they will void your warranty.Originally posted by vimesh View Post@ leech ..Thanks for the reply dude... i live in ahmedabad & temp here crosses 40c easily in summer so shell advance ultra would be a better choice but its only 4100 km on the odo... when should one change to FS??? If you want to be sneaky, you have to let them change your oil again at the recommended interval.
So you'll have to change the oil at 4100 kms to synthetic, then again at 6000 kms by SVC, then drain that and put in fresh synthetic. Suits some people, but, personally, I don't bother. I'd rather use the provided oil and raise hell if anything goes wrong.Last edited by leech; 05-01-2017, 03:41 PM.

Thank you all for such a wonderful forum where first bike owners like me can get in touch and share my experiences and learn from more experienced guys out there.
I own a RED Honda Hornet STD ,
Bought it on 15th April
I have completed first service today after 730 Kms and was charged rupees 344 for the same , oil was removed and Honda 10W30MA was filled.
First of all , i absolutely loved the experience of the bike.
Pickup was very good, i could feel the powerfull engine
I clocked 80-95 kmph constantly for first few days
The highest speed being 117 on a open highway.
But, after a few days i began to get some strange noise when riding above 60-80 kmph
At first i thought it was because of chain and tightened the chain.
but the sound continued few days after getting chain lubed and tightened .
Informed the service person about the same during first service , he said it was because of dry chain .
I have to see whether the noise is now reduced or not.
The bikes suspension seems to be a little hard and can feel the the hardness when riding over speed breakers
I am getting 43-45 kmpl mileage . It may improve if i maintain a constant speed
I have bought accessories from a store .
500 for seat and tank cover
400 for leg guard
130 for ladies foot rest
50 for handle grips
Now after going through the forum
i want to know following
Is there any way that a Engine kill switch can be installed in HORNET ?
Can i install a new switch gear set of any other bike onto HORNET ?
Is there any way that headlights power can be increased or replaced with more powerful ones ?
What kind of Engine oil has to be filled ?
Where did you get that tank cover and Footrest..i mean from which store in hyderabad?
P.S. DO NOT QUOTE THE ENTIRE PICTURE SET. Remove all pics before quoting any posts with pictures.Last edited by B7ACKTHORN; 05-01-2017, 06:16 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Installing process is quite easy just open the headlight housing and replace the stock T10 bulbs with the new ones, These LEDs were given by my friend (He brought from US) Mostly made in China, I'm sharing more links below to get from Aliexpress.comOriginally posted by adityagaur51 View Posthey man where did u get them....?? some link if u found them online.... installation procedure!!!!
https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/1286....html#autostay (The ones similar to what I've installed)
https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/3266....html#autostay (Overkill version)
Please note: No extra wiring is needed as these lights work on DC, and Hornet provides DC to all the Lighting components except the main Headlight (which sucks).

These LEDs Barely consume 3W, so no extra wiring needed. 😉Originally posted by vaRider View PostWow! That's really nice!

While I agree with almost everything you said, one thing that's debatable - Brand.
So any of Mobil 1/Motul/Shell/Castrol/Pennzoil should do.
Important thing to take away is, (5-10)W(35-50) is the right range of oils anywhere in India. I'm myself using Mobil-1 5w50 since ages.Last edited by iamkrazee; 05-02-2017, 01:19 PM.

iamkrazee - 50 weight oils are too much for the Honda engines, they reduce acceleration and mileage. I've noticed a small difference in mileage and initial pickup with even 40 weight oils.

I was planning to use 10w50 on my moped and bike.
Does this oil realy affect acceleration?
How?
