Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I see.. I had fz25 in my shortlist. But it costs 40k more and has no abs. I choose hornet for practicality and value for money. I am not sure now which motorcycle should I go for.Originally posted by raaz321 View Post2017 model, but i strongly suggest you not go for hornet. they didn't changed much in 2018 version same issues just chain is bit better that's it and abs

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yes iam the owner of hornet 160r abs. Chain noise is gone, led headlights are ok, breaking is superb, and currently i have completed 800 kilometers . Bike is getting more smoother day by day, gearbox is better than yamaha fz 250 , mileage after 1st servicing is around 50kmpl [emoji4][emoji4]Originally posted by elviento View PostHow is the 2018 model with abs? I am planning to buy hornet's 2018 model. Have the previous issues been fixed in this new model? Has anyone had experience? Any owners of the 2018 model please share your experience

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Updated hornet and xblade has no such engine issues, after 1500 kilometres engine becomes free and you can enjoy the bike. Pros of hornet: best handling, best looks ( junior dominar [emoji4][emoji4]), best handling, abs, saved me 4 times during rainy season, mileage, riding position is best, you don't have to lean like fz or gixxer, accessible rear seat for elderly person like mother, father etc ( most practical street fighter in class ), low maintenance, engine oil cost is only 310 rupees including gst, hazard lights etc.Originally posted by elviento View PostBlue looks good. Can you tell me how is the bike treating you. Are you facing any issues or the bike is fine. Can you compare with the 2017 version?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
GUYS just completed 11000 kms on my hornet.... i'm loving every second of this bike apart from this being my first own bike...
i have just done 4 services from the ASC which included free services ... rest i do DIY stuff at home .. i have done cleaning of oil filter at home by opening the clutch cover and cleaning it , the gasket provided is pretty good and cost around 120 rs...
also i have changed the air filter twice ... one at 5000kms another at 10500kms...
also i'm thinking about changing the spark plug but stock one looks good for another 2000kms... new one cost around 118 rs...
one damage i had was on the console meter cover which was destroyed by cracking by some jealous sole... the water was entering the console so i decided not to take risk and change it.... new plastic cover for console along with buttons cost around 580rs...
recently i did a 300km trip with pillion and was happy with the performance... solidly bike can do 80kmph without breaking a sweat ....
Top speed with a pillion i managed was 115kmph with the airfilter cover being removed and bike makes very good loud induction noises...
overall i'm quite happy with the bike .. little gripe with missing low end torque but it replaces it with a high revving engine perfect for highways...
But mostly the problem i face is with the low quality chain (can someone present some alternate chain for hornet ?)..
I would solidly rate this bike 8/10 for my needs ....
Next i'm gonna DIY on cleaning the carburetor.... can someone provide some easy way of doing it... ???
Things i have moded include changing headlight and pilot lamp to LED bulb and changing signal indicators to KTM like LED ones ... all three of these were brougt from aliexpress... the headlight costed 900 rs , pilot lamp 10 bulb rs 150 for all 10 and 4 led indicators for rs 1600...
The average fuel consumption for me has ranged from 42 to 50 kmpl... I generally ride hard so mostly it remains at 45 kmpl... Best i got while ringing sanely was 53kmpl...
THANKY you ...

Yeah it will vastly improve... You can use semi synthetic oil after second service... But wait till 5-6k kms for fully synthetic oilOriginally posted by #bpk View PostCurrently I've clocked 840 kilometers, i feel some light vibrations in my handlebar and footpegs, will it go away after 2nd service

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
2018 Hornet's o-ring chain kit is the best. Should cost around 1300/- INR. Mileage is good for a 160cc ! Only Suzuki and Honda (Suzuki slightly better in this) know the knack of getting both good performance and efficiency which some comparable bikes with multiple spark plugs struggle to achieve. If you don't have power/mileage/starting issues, leave the carb as such for now. There's no easy way like dipping it in a bucket of petrol but I have seen all sorts of things on Youtube. Just make sure you separate rubber rings/gaskets and clean them with soap and water. Carb cleaner might instantly damage them. Congrats on 11k!Originally posted by adityagaur51 View PostBut mostly the problem i face is with the low quality chain (can someone present some alternate chain for hornet ?)..i'm gonna DIY on cleaning the carburetor.... can someone provide some easy way of doing it... ??? Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello. Yes, the bike seems trouble free. I own the 2018 version of hornet. I faced an issue with the bike sliding towards left, from day 1, which was fixed recently after I dropped an email to honda. [emoji5]. Rest I faced zero issues as of now. Check for headlight beam if it's throwing high away from the ground when you get the pdi done. However, if your purpose is for commuting in the city most of the time, hero launched xtreme 200r at almost same or lesser price than hornet abs. I'm not much sure of the pricing but it is somewhere lesser than hornet as per few updates on the internet. Take a test ride of both of them and decide which one suits you better.Originally posted by elviento View PostHow is the 2018 model with abs? I am planning to buy hornet's 2018 model.
