The sad part is that there's decline in manufacturing quality in honda, some lucky customers are getting hornet in perfect condition, whereas, some customers like me getting some imperfect products, it has spoiled my love for biking [emoji22][emoji22]Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostI have not got any mentionable problems on my older 2005 Unicorn (1,15000 km- 11 years) and 2016 Hornet (12,600 km till now). Maybe I am lucky!

All the manufacturers may have some problematic bikes. But the problems can be rectified. The owners have also some responsibilities like proper following up of running in period and maintenance.Originally posted by #bpk View PostThe sad part is that there's decline in manufacturing quality in honda, some lucky customers are getting hornet in perfect condition, whereas, some customers like me getting some imperfect products, it has spoiled my love for biking [emoji22][emoji22]

Guys please suggest on things to be changed/serviced. I dont see any degrade in performance though. Thanks in advance.
Till now what are things you have replaced.
Mine ODO is 20K.
I changed break pads at 15K. Air filter at interval of 9K.
Tyres are getting bald but still looks good for 5k more.
Anyone changed spark plug?------------------

I changed break pads at 22k odo, air filters, chain sprocket a couple of times. Changed stock had lamp to osram silver star. Absolutely no replacements apart from these.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostWhoa...

I know it's high time to change tyres. the stock ones are still holding air good but of course balding. Thinking to switch to mrf Masseter. I don't know when to change chain, carburetor and battery.
I am using Shell ultra FS oil till 3rd service. Cleaning chain with D-40 spray and applying 3M lubricant twice a month.

Do you use shell 10w 40 grade. Is it thicker than what company recommends [emoji53][emoji53]Originally posted by Ananda View PostI changed break pads at 22k odo, air filters, chain sprocket a couple of times. Changed stock had lamp to osram silver star. Absolutely no replacements apart from these.

Yes. I was skeptic about it but the heating issue and grinding noise forced me to try FS oil. I didnt regret :-).Originally posted by #bpk View PostDo you use shell 10w 40 grade. Is it thicker than what company recommends [emoji53][emoji53]
Bike responds better with FS oil. Mileage is not hit, No heating issue and engine sounds better.
This is the drill,
Use 10w 30 stock oil for three services.
Use Motul 10w 30 semi-synthetic once
Then switch to 10w 40 Fully synthetic oil of your choice.
Anything beyond 10w 40 will sure be over kill.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello guys,
Can I use high octane petrol in my hornet? Has anyone used it and felt any difference.. recently I faced an issue with impurities in the carburettor causing the bike to stop in the middle of the road.so thinking of switching to high octane oil.. please advise.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
How is the 2018 model with abs? I am planning to buy hornet's 2018 model. Have the previous issues been fixed in this new model? Has anyone had experience? Any owners of the 2018 model please share your experience
