My roommmate tightens his chain every 300 to 400kms. If not, it gets worse and there is handling issues with the bike.

      HEY GUYS

please please please does anyone have a service/ workshop manual for the hornet 160r?

I really need it as i am planning a lot of maintenance on the bike which will include,

      chain and sprocket change,
      Brake pad change,
      tyres change
      Front fork rebuild,
      carburettor clean and retune,
      Cone set inspection,
      Wheel bearings inspection
      and so on

I need the manual for various torque values of all the bolts, also the correct method of assembly/disassembly.

I ride my bike at full throttle a lot of the time and want to make sure its right.

PLEASE can anyone help me out.

I will make sure i share pictorials of all those jobs once i get the jobs done.

      Thanks.

It has gear stuck issue between 3-4 and 4-5. Imagine gear locked in at 50Kmph and RPM touches 8k near red line. They never fixed it.
Except it there is no issue and balance of bike is awesome with great sitting posture. I did a hard breaking on slope at 80Kmph and bike came still without skid.
I really liked the bike more than RTR 160 which I used for an year.
But, when I started with Hornet, I felt the what power is in category of 150 - 160.
Also, after driving Hornet, I realized how much Hero Hunk was vibrating at 75-85 bracket.
Wow, you have hunk also, you should have upgraded to atleast 250cc bikes then. Any plans to upgrade your ride [emoji4][emoji4]

To above comments. I know Hunk is good bike. I just got a little-defective-piece. But still I liked the bike. It always respond me well.

              Here is the story,
I got Hornet in Jan 2016. My maximum budget was 1Lakh. I was even looking for next version of Hunk as old Hunk was going to my relative. I didn't like any other bike under 1Lakh.
I had only two option at that time Fz and Gixxer. I didn't liked t FZ handling and sitting, personal choice, and, Gixxer also. Both didn't had duel disc. After coming from duel disc Hunk, I wasn't ready to go back. That saved me couple of times from killing jaywalkers .

When I saw Hornet in showroom, before launch. That was amazingly massive bike. With the reviews on corner that it has new engine which going to borrowed to CBR 150. Showroom quoted 1.1 Lakh would be expected price.
By, Jan, 15th 2016. I had to get the bike within a week. I even finalized the Hero-Xtreme, with odd key position. When I showed picture to my sister. She told, what a ugly bike (no offence). I tried my luck to call showroom if Hornet is launch. They said, it available for 98K on road price. Also, only color available matched to my choice is Blue (Well it turned out almost black). It felt like steal deal with such good looking bike with newly designed engine.
So, I got Hornet . People were staring on Hornet for next couple of month.

The gear stuck issue in your bike can be due to defective gear spring. Have you consulted anyone other than svc regarding this?

It's old story with Hunk when I got in Dec, 2010. I notified and asked to fix it many times from service 1 itself. I had no knowledge of bike things at those time. Anyway, carburetor changed and bike is not with now. It just running now.

Thanks I'll look for it, good to know it's here somewhere I'll find it.

I've got Taparia 1/4" Dr torque wrench that does from 8-30 Nm if I am not wrong.

I will be getting another 1/2" Dr one soon. I have invested in new tools recently, just waiting for my carpark to finish renovation to start working on the bikes.

My hornet really needs loads of maintenance, as I ride it alot and I had got a second hand one.. so I need to know all the mechanical parts are to spec.

I'll upload all pictorials as soon as I start working on it.

                    Thanks

Had similar issue after changing tyres on my CBR 250. My chain and sproket was due for a replacement but as soon as I changed the tyres I faced rear wheel stop-and-run problem. As I changed my tyres from tyre shop not from SVC initially I tought they couldn't fit wheel properly but after replacing the chain-sprocket the problem was gone. I will still suggest you to consult a good local mechanic before changing chain-sproket. I changed my set at 26K that too with initial zero maintenance which could have been stretched to 35K+ with proper maintenance from day one. Now with the Hornet chain I don't know the exact life but I doubt whether it would live only 8K.

So this happened twice or thrice to me. Its a new bike, and i'm still getting used to the clutch's friction zone..solo riding is mostly fine but with pillion and two back packs the bike struggles to lift off and twice or thrice it so happened that the bike made a sound of stalling but it did not stall(engine did not switch off). Any idea what could have happened.

I what gear/RPM it's happening. With 160cc and pillion. Consider it as 125cc.
Try to rev 3rd gear comfortably till 5.5K before shift up.

It happened to me during my initial days. After completing more kilometers engine will be free and will pull from low speed without stalling. For eg, now my bike picks up comfortably from 25kmph in 3rd gear with pillion
