I thought it had some light sensor and when the ambient light is low, the headlight comes on automatically, like how the instrument console's backlight comes on when its dark. My headlight remains on even when its sunny, what is the point of having DRLs if the headlight itself remains on[emoji28]
      Actually, with BS IV norms,
AHO is mandatory - which is headlamp is on when ever required.
      DRL - Daytime running lamp
Actually, headlamp and DRL should separate unit but to save money, manufacturer just added DRL in headlamp by removing on-off switch. Most annoying situation when people run headlamp on on high beam, and stupids with bike like Dominar, very powerful headlamp blinds the incoming commuter in day light

Point of having DRL is safety reason, bike with DRL come in notice very easily, hence less chance of head on collision. Much useful in 2-lane roads without divider. Even if I my Hornet is before BS-iV norms. I always drive with parking light on and with headlamp on non-divider roads.

Total cost is Rs 2100 (i.e. Rs 2000 for the headlight and Rs 100 for relay and wires)
Process is very simple. Firstly, I converted the headlight from AC to DC setup using a 4-pin horn relay.
Afterwards, I installed the LED headlamp as its a direct fit. You can ask your mechanic to do it for you which, in case, will increase your total cost. I did all this by myself. Cheers!!

Yes, it will, provided you lube the chain frequently (to keep the o-rings wet and supple) and clean it before lubing when it is too dirty. What is the frequency of cleaning/lubing/adjusting? IMHO, forget the kilometer ranges provided in the manual. Check chain every week and do the cleaning/lubing/adjusting as required.

Anyway, I am satisfied with the bike's performance and stabilty upto the speed of around 105 kmph. 80, I think, is the sweet spot though. 50-80 is usually my zone. This was my first and the only top speed run in hopefully a substantially long time. Just wanted to make sure that the bike won't underperform should the need arise. Although I changed to NGK CPR8EAIX Iridium spark plug today. The engine would start with a little throttle on electric start but it would turn off if i didn't throttle the engine upto 1000rpm. It used to stutter until I'd warm it up at 12-1300 rpm for at least 2 minutes. I hope that issue is resolved. Will update if I feel any change upon riding.
My bike is a severe victim of chain slack disease - I mean 500 km is the most I can go without having the chain tightened. Can the chain sprocket system be replaced with that on the 2018 model? More importantly, will it help with the chain slack situation?
            500kms ?
            Lucky you!
It's 200kms at max for me.
Every time I talk to service center guys regarding this, they think it's all in my head.

Be happy and a reason will come along !

You guys are tightening chain 4-5 time per 1500/200Km ?
A new chain definetly needs tightening after 1000 and at around 4000km. After that, while servicing.
I think, after 3-4 time tightening, the space will exhaust and you have to get new chain.

I totally agree. Service is pretty bad.

Yeah, it's that bad. The service centre is not ready to accept the shortcoming. They are pretty illiterate about the bike anyway.

Almost every week before the weekend. 500km is the max I can go. I had discussed a service person about replacing the chain. He wasn't even aware that the new model has a different chain.

                            I have Hero Hunk also.
After 33K, Carburetor busted. I tell you there is no abuse of bike. Only office going and come back.
It has gear stuck issue between 3-4 and 4-5. Imagine gear locked in at 50Kmph and RPM touches 8k near red line. They never fixed it.
Except it there is no issue and balance of bike is awesome with great sitting posture. I did a hard breaking on slope at 80Kmph and bike came still without skid.
I really liked the bike more than RTR 160 which I used for an year.
But, when I started with Hornet, I felt the what power is in category of 150 - 160.
Also, after driving Hornet, I realized how much Hero Hunk was vibrating at 75-85 bracket.

What is there in carb to bust under normal use? First of all its an unfair comparison as hornet is having a 10cc advantage over hunk. Mine doesn't vibrate as you say. Only a slight engine resonance vibe which is acceptable as it doesn't have a balancer shaft to counter the vibration. Low end is, bit low compared to rtr160 and unicorn160. Post 60km/hr the bike will fly in no time. Apart from this the bike is cool with comfortable sitting posture and comfy suspension. Even people who owns uni150 said to me that pillion comfort is better than their unicorns.
