Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
There's no oil filter in the hornet. Change the air filter every 6-7k kms if you ride mostly in the city.Originally posted by iamkrazee View Post
Brake oil and the filters I'll upgrade at the end of the current ones' lives.
Will post an update here after upgrade.
I'm also thinking of changing the grab-rails (custom made), to have them in a single piece. Any reasons, you guys think/know of, why it should not be done?
Single piece grab rail affects the looks, that's all.
If you don't care about warranty, you can fit a kill switch too.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-04-2017, 05:53 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
2017 Hornet 160 R with AHO....
Still No switchgear update...
Its max power has now been reduced to 11.22kW from 11.68 kW (From 15.66 bhp to 15.04 bhp).
What does that change mean ?????

That means making the bike BS4 complaint has resulted in low MAX horse power.

Thank you for the info! I've broken warranty practically on day-2Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThere's no oil filter in the hornet. Change the air filter every 6-7k kms if you ride mostly in the city.

.
About the kill-switch.. would it require wiring change? As I understand, the bike has very low strength(and low cost) wiring and isn't extensible by simpler means. Just trying to understand the magnitude of change - since I don't deem the feature an absolute must.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Kill switch is like a luxury here then. I use my CD100 without a kill switch and even electric start, it's not a deal breaker.Originally posted by iamkrazee View Post

Wiring is pretty straightforward, no need to extend wires or splice them too much. It's just that most bikes have a different switch layout, which makes it difficult to fit. The ones from the Yamaha Gladiator have the same layout as hornet, and so we don't need to modify wiring much.
It's way more important to change the headlamps. The stock ones are horrible.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-04-2017, 09:43 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It does have an oil filter/strainer(like original Unicorn150) which requires to be cleaned every 24000 km as told by a Honda mechanic when I asked him about the instructions for the 1st service given in the manual of CB Hornet 160R that oil filter cleaning should be done in the 1st service. It needs opening of the engine crankcase. I had the oil filter of my previous Unicorn 150 cleaned at least three times in its 1,14,000 km(approx.) journey before I sold it off to buy my new Hornet(Striking Green CBS Special Edition).Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThere's no oil filter in the hornet. No, I meant that there's no separate oil filter which can be changed like the FZ and Gixxer.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostIt does have an oil filter/strainer(like original Unicorn150) which requires to be cleaned every 24000 km as told by a Honda mechanic when I asked him about the instructions for the 1st service given in the manual of CB Hornet 160R that oil filter cleaning should be done in the 1st service. It has a strainer and a centrifugal oil filter.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-05-2017, 08:44 AM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
No problem bhai...I've done 2 250+ ride before 2000km, no problem at all. Just don't try to push very harder.you can cruise easily 70-80 as you've already completed 1200km. Just take a break in between the span of 250kmOriginally posted by ashisharia View PostAny problem if I take 250km single day on a new Hornet (1200km)?
