I have ordered 3M cleaner and lube.
Yesterday, I got a puncture repaired. Not sure when it was happen. Possibly when I was on 80Km city outskirt trip. I totally love these tubeless tyres. Imagine, what would had happened with tube and you're in No Man's Land in radius of 5Km.

Happy New Year Guys and safe riding.

Do later post how 3M lube is. Reviews say that it's not that sticky, so it shouldn't be sprayed more than adequate and intervals of spraying are comparatively a teensy more frequent

It can be done using alternator. I haven't done it yet, but I'm really interested to install this!

              Such a powerful headlight!
Night riding will be so much fun with this!

I tired every possible way to install LED headlight but I failed because of the bike's wiring being partially DC, really digging the Alternator thing maybe if you or someone can provide more information about the same, because I live in a small town where I can hardly buy stuff from stores and the mechanics are not well educated.

Completed Third free service. Odo reads 9956. I still have 2 months/2000 kms to clock for date recommended to do 3rd service. but i clocked nearly 6000 km after second service. I thought its too long with stock mineral oil.

After service. Bike feels like new. Engine is growing refined and silent. responds well to throttle. Over all its a good buy.

I bought Motul FS oil and i have to wait painfully for another 2000+ kms to change. I cant wait to see how this machine behave with FS oil in its guts.
Will post results on headlight change soon.

That's great! My 3rd service is due soon!
Recently it feels like Hornet is running rough, like something has loosened.
It's not engine that's rough, dunno how to figure out.
Probably will have to check all nuts and bolts if they are loosened.

                    Any suggestions buddies

I found it better to have throttle freeplay reduced. Feels crispier now... 😊

                          Hi fellow XBhpians,

First of all wish you all a very happy new year.

I'm from Pune and I have purchased a honda hornet 160r CBS variant on 24th December 2016.

I'm facing some issues with the bike. Kindly guide me in deciding what the actual issues are help me in resolution.

I'm facing the following main issues with the bike.
                          1. The gear shifts are really hard of the bike. When the engine is cool then the shifts are smooth initially for a short distance of 3-4 km but as the engine becomes hot, the gear shift start giving problem and become very hard to operate. I did the first servicing of the bike at 440 km but still the gear shifts are hard. Does it take time for the gear shifts to become smooth considering this as a new engine?
                          2. The main issue is with the engine. When the engine warms up after riding for about 3-4 km, the engine becomes very stressed and sounds rough post 3000 rpm. I shift to higher gears post 3500 rpm, avoid driving with high gear in low speeds . I'm also following the instructions for the run in period deligently and have never revved the engine post 4500 rpm till now.
                          3. The engine also makes a humming sound while accelerating and deaccelerating as if the tappets are loose. Is there an issue with the engine?

I've reported about the problems to the service center multiple times but they are not acknowledging it. I've also registered a complaint by emailing to customer care but no action has been taken. Kindly suggest what needs to be done in such situation.

                          Regards,
                          Vivek Shinde

A proper ASC will rectify everything during service. We can reiterate on Checking air filter, Wheel alignment and tyre check, Lubricating wheels and chain. rest all fine. I am going to change headlight bulb and also switching to FS oil.

I have been using 3M and it works fine. The only problem i am facing is sourcing kerosene. Have not tried diesel as a substitute.

True that. I myself possess only limited quantity of very old kerosene, back from the times when they used it to light the stoves....
I believe diesel is a high-flash point safer alternative. We'll only know if we try(even I haven't used it)
