Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
At that time I was not at Guwahati. I was at Dibrugarh, 473 km away. I have purchased this today only to help fellow DIY Hornet owners. But I tried to help although in a different way. If wishes were horses...Originally posted by Suddy View Post

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Appreciate for explaining the trim clip usage in hornet 160.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostI got it from ASC named Vinayak Honda at Guwahati. Now go through the photographs at different steps posted by me and you can easily remove the trim clip(s). Honda is not customer friendly(well known fact) and cheating customers by charging Rs. 116 for a Rs.10(max.) product. Try at different ASCs/parts dealers and share your experience at this forum.
Is that clip used by honda to protect those side enclosures. That should be the cheapest idea from the valuable brand like Honda. This seems a clear example of over pricing with the brand named honda for a trim clip. The similar clips can be found in car spare parts shops of different sizes with price of 10INR or less.
I am glad to know more about this bike from this forum. Really helpful for a person like me in a situation to choose a bike.

Not protection, but to fix the side covers in place on the front side. Honda is notorious for overpricing in the name of quality which is also not that great.Originally posted by Armi_2015 View PostAppreciate for explaining the trim clip usage in hornet 160.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Did buy my orange HORNET on 6th jan. Went for test ride and found the FAMOUS sound coming from chain. I did ride another 2 new hornets and got the same sound . And the same thing happening with my bike as well. Service guys are telling I have to live with it as others are living with same .. You guys are facing the same ??? I mean if we ride the bike above 20 we can easily hear the sound coming from chain.

That's because the chain isn't lubed well, try lubricating it then see the results.Originally posted by rishiaima View PostDid buy my orange HORNET on 6th jan. The sound becomes much less after covering some kilometers and may be after lubrication. My bike has covered 3800 km and the chain is lubricated by me although not regularly. I do not find any sound now which existed just after purchase.Originally posted by meeraj_xplore View PostThat's because the chain isn't lubed well, try lubricating it then see the results.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
They give all strange reasons. I told them about pickup issues as when I rev suddenly I hear engine sound like not enough fuel . They told me it's a safety feature to avoid accidents . That was it I din bother to take the conversation ahead .Originally posted by Suddy View PostHoly cow man!
Even I couldn't solve the vibe issues. So I simply bought a pair of gloves instead to stop my hands going numb. The way they just can't see the fault with this bike! And there was the rusting too. In several places. I was given an explanation there as to what rusting was actually. So that was very exciting. I've only studied the chemistry behind this, I didn't actually know what rusting was till then. It's really interesting to see that they've changed so much for you.
I agree with you totally man. Enough of calling this bike great and shit and all.... The question that keeps popping up time and again is if it's worth every dime we paid...?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Oh that. I tuned my carb. Feels much better now. I found that I couldn't achieve a completely stable rpm, but I found a position that gives an unwavering rpm for about 18secs on avg. This position is quite sensitive and I got it in the neighbourhood of 3.25 turns(a tad greater than that, I think) from the completely lean mixture position. Also, I reduced throttle freeplay. The bike now has become nosier or that's how I feel(donno for sure), but I most certainly lost some of the thumping sound during pickup. But throttle response increased significantly too.Originally posted by Abhik1 View PostThey give all strange reasons. You may give these a try at your own risk.

Guys, fitted side-foot rest over saree guard today. Cost @150 and 30 Labor charges.
How many of you have renews insurances? My Reliance insurance shows 2392 premium for renewal? Is it worth or should I choose another company?
Please guide.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Yes, I faced the same issue and just to make it clear, this is not because of chain lubrication, it is because issue with part in chain assembly and seems this issue is with all Hornets in new lotsOriginally posted by rishiaima View PostDid buy my orange HORNET on 6th jan. . ACS and Honda engg accepted the fault and issued me refund as I registered this issue on very next day I got the delivery of bike.
Please raise this issue with showroom immediately, you may be also lucky to get replacement from new lot of refund.

Thanks for the information...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I got the full payment back, will go with Hornet if this issue is fixed in new lot, if not then I will go with some other options in market because riding new and expensive bike with such faulty sound is not something I am willing to do. Bajaj RS 200 with new color theme (Black and Silver) I am considering as option.Originally posted by Armi_2015 View PostHi Apreded,
