This has been discussed in detailed in this forum. I'll summarise points below. I have installed auxiliary on my Hornet, so I can advert l answer your questions.

*Ideally LED headlight should be better than auxiliary. But, Hornet's headlamp reflector design is very poor so it can't totally extract all light thrown by LED bulb. Due to 🔋 limitations, you can't go for 55/60W light either. So you've to stick to 35/35W setup.
In this case, auxiliary is better choice as each one outputs at 14W totalling to 28W at very less power consumption. But you've to make the setup right for angle.
No electrical modifications are required for auxiliary setup. Just join the wires with ignition wire and you're done.
Auxiliary U5 cost around 1100 and 150 labour charge. Whereas LED cost at 1000 with simple plug and play. With auxiliary electrical warranty may get void but not with LED headlight bulb.

Better suggestion is to try LED headlight bulb and if you're not satisfied you can install auxiliary as well.
Since I already installed auxiliary, I'll be replacing stock headlight with Osram Silverstar which costs 150₹.

There are no impacts on 🔋, as long as you use extra lights only when battery is sufficiently charged and only use them when necessary.

I've answered all your questions with extra details. Cheers! [emoji41]

              Hello guys,

It's been almost a year now and my bike has completed 6,500 Kms. (I know it is very less)

I've calculated the average by reserve to reserve method.
I had filled 6 liters of Indian Oil's XtraPremium petrol when it was showing 6261kms on ODO.
At 6505kms, the bike completely died on me and I had to switch it to reserve mode again.

So it means my bike is giving the average of 40kml
              6505 - 6261 = 244 kms
              244 kms / 6 ltr = 40.67 kmpl

              Riding Conditions :
I ride in city traffic only.
I ride under 60kmph most of the times.

Anyway, now I've filled up 2 liter of Shell's V Power petrol.
I've noticed that, the bike started to feel peppier instantly.
Let's see what average I will get with this petrol now.

Was the bike at On (Main Supply) or Reserve when filling up at 6261?

#1 If it was at On, and lets say the On portion already had 1 liter of petrol. If it did, that 1L has to be added in the calculation which would further bring down kmpl.

#2 Reserve is 1.7L in Hornet 160R, IIRC. If it was at Reserve at the time of filling at 6261, and assuming only 700 ml was left in the tank, out of the 6 liters you filled, 1L would go and 'sit' in the Reserve portion. So, now mileage becomes 244/5 = 48.8!

As soon as the bike died, I had turned the knob from ON to RESERVE.
And the petrol pump was well within 1km
So, I filled up the petrol and turned the knob to ON mode again.

Even though it is mentioned in the manual as well as on the bike itself, I was still confused about the optimal tyre pressure due to bike's pick-up and ride quality.
So I had sent an email to Honda asking them about the correct tyre pressure.
Just couple of minutes ago, someone from Honda called me and told me that, we need to keep 25psi in the front tyre and 33psi(single) and 41psi(with pillion) in the rear tyre.
I asked him thrice just to make sure I heard him correctly.

Just thought of sharing with you all.

These tyre pressure recommendations for pillion keep me wondering - do we have to inflate and deflate the tyre each time we pick up a pillion? Practically that's not possible, so I end up keeping the rear tyre pressure to the 'pillion pressure' always.

, 41 psi ?? Haven't seen any recommendation in two wheeler. However, people fill 40r 35f in to save money but I feel it's eats the ride quality.

I always fill 32r 30f , mostly ride with pillion. Front gets drop below 25 psi in two weeks but Rear pressure never drops below 28. This also shows the pressure wear by front tyre in breaking conditions.

Manual only mentions 25/25 - single and 25/29 - with pillion. Have they updated it?

I ride on 25/27 alone and bike gives me good balance of grip and smoothness. Also mileage is about 45. If it is filled more, ride becomes hard that means tyre inflation is more and lesser grip.

I was referring to that only.
