I hope they returned the old/damaged parts - some SVCs in Chennai still do it (or) on insisting.

Except clutch assembly, all replacements are fine and routine, so don't worry about them. My hunch is that they have a service bulletin asking them to replace the c/assembly in vehicles where they detect a problem (vibration, abnormal noise); or, they were simply trying to make some money. All being said, I did come across one video on YT of an Unicorn 160 with abnormal clutch noise (As claimed by the uploader).

That's a huge bill . Why don't you try mailing Honda's Service Support through their website and ask for a refund?
And more over from the beginning I have given the bike at the same ASC and they always use Honda throttle.
Which is meant to stay atleast till 6 K KM's.

Coming to cost , the spares are around 5300 and labour is 1550.
And finally tax is 1349 + 560 for AMC

And I have already done writing mails to Honda earlier when I replaced my rear disc (not pad ) and chain sprocket at an unexpected interval.

It is a very simple thing , which traps us is their hidden terms and conditions which are not mentioned in the user manual and else where. [emoji19]

So as usual they have this reply of wear and tear parts not covered under warranty .

Yes, you need to open side panel for AFR adjustment.

Thank you
Better visit service center and insist them to test your issue.

I thought it would go away after some time, but I'm still facing the same issue even after one year.
My brother has Gixxer, and it doesn't produce any vibrations even at 80kmph and remains steady throughout.
What would be the problem ?
Is vibration/roughness persist after 60Kmph? then it's abnormal.
Hornet/Other bikes in this segment gives roughness for certain bracket or rpm but goes away in higher RPM's. I believe after a year all things should be sorted out. Even roughness in 4-5k rpm.
Do you go on highways? drive bike for more than 25km and if problem persist, this should be repaired.
My bike is 1.8 years old. It little harsh in first 5-6Km sometimes but after that goes back to smooth. I rarely ride more than 30Km but drive has been always better with distance.
Which oil you are on? try going on stock oil if not!

Because i refill petrol weekly once and check air pressure i fill R32/F26 normally.
2 days after riding a long of 70km+ i checked air pr it showed Front 32 and Rear 36. i fill up air in Shell petrol bunk.
So should i fill up 2Psi more or less every time as correction factor.
i live in bengaluru and temp is quite cool here.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Try not to alter any air pressure other than the company specified rating. I can understand if you are in North India where temperature either soars above 40 degrees in summer and dips below 4 or 5 degrees in winter. However, the tyre pressure wouldn't vary drastically unless you are riding continuously during mid-noon in hot summer days. In winter, tyre pressure adjusts automatically as tyre gets heated while running.

Otherwise, as law of physics, gas expands when it is heated. Hence air pressure increases slightly after running for a prolonged period. For city driving you should not be worrying at all.

I got this spray shiner . Works really well.
It's shines glossy body and keep from sticking dusts. Even after a week, just gentle clean by microfiber bring back the shine.

Will the diesel wash be useful? Also does it get into disc break or other parts which shouldn't be washed with diesel or WD40?

WD40 has kerosene base and other chemicals that repels water and breaks down grease and dirt. However, it is not recommended to use on silencer as its gets hotter. However you can wipe the silencer with cloth dampened with WD40 and wipe the dirt thoroughly. You can use Silencer coating available on amazon to spray the silencer which will protect it from rusting and gives little bit of resistance to dirt.

Yes you need to be careful while spraying WD40 to ensure it will not get into disc and break pad. I'm not sure about the diesel wash. However you can go with some coating that repels dirt from engine and under chasis.

But WD40 is very good in taking care of rusted parts and smoothening key holes where often keys gets stuck etc.

Great! Thank you for the explanation. It's very helpful. In general how long does exhaust pipe last once it starts rusting? I'm worried about it.

Is this right time to try this or should i wait till I do my second servicing or wait till I complete some more KMs.?
                  Please suggest.
Please do not push the bike to 100kmph immediately after first service. You can take couple more thousand kilometers to reach 100+. Currently I'm in 2.5K range and I'm going up to 80K.

This is the tested method with my 11 year old Unicorn before I upgraded to Hornet. If engine is allowed to settle during run In period, you would not get any engine problem at all. I've seen two year/25K unicorn having engine problem which is mainly because of not taking care of your bike properly.

During first service the service centre (Bangalore) guy said that he filled honda fully synthetic oil and billed me 750rs.

Had done my Second service at 4200 kms one week back.

In second service the service centre (
at my native place ) guy said that he had filled mineral oil and billed me 340 rs.

                  My query is

                  1. Do i need to change the Oil to Fully Synthetic or should i continue with mineral oil?
                  2. Is there any thing serious problem if i stay with mineral oil after second service?
                  3. If I should change to FS please suggest me a good Engine oil.

                  Please guys Suggest me..
Service center always does the blunder. They have changed my Car's to mineral oil from Fully Synth (FS) despite instructing them. I had to make them empty it and refill the FS.
It is not recommended to switch back to mineral oil as engine might have set for FS oil. You may not observe the change immediately but in the long run, it may create issues.

To your queries: 1: No harm in using recommended mineral oil. However FS gives more refinement to the engine and engine life will be prolonged as it has better lubrication properties as well as it lasts longer than mineral oil. If you can shell out extra bucks, please continue to use FS.
2: It is not recommended to switch back to mineral from FS. As engine would have nice set for FS standards.
3: Go for Honda Throttle FS oil 10/30W as it is recommended by the company and you will not void any warranty. Do not try any other oil like Shell, Motul or Mobil1 as you may void warranty.

Even though it appears as rusting externally, it will still lasts for few more years. Do not replace the exhaust pipe until there is hole caused by rusting. Or if you are going on a long ride and do not want to take chances. I'm suggesting out of my Unicorn experience, which I owned for 11 years. Even it was looking ugly, I didn't bother to replace exhaust pipe.

Hi guys just completed 700 km's. I had my first service at only 500km's and now my bike was 2 months old. I had few problems as well as few query's
                      1) there is wooblins sound from the from portion while ridding on rough roads and one of friend in this forum had insisted me to make cone set adjustment. So I will post weather the problem was rectified or not after adjustment apart from it if anyone had another suggestions plz guide me to rectify this problem it's really irritating me lot!!!!!!
                      2) can any one suggest how much quantity of lubrication oil must be add and what is recommended to use fully synthetic or mineral oil???
                      3) some times engine is working smoothand fine while somtimes it's getting harsh with some abnormal vibrations ( I don't rev harder and sudden and I ride up to speed of 40km/hr in 4th gear) can anyone has solution for this what to do at those harsh running times.
                      4) some one has suggested to replace the k and n air filter in the place of stock air filter. Will it cause any harm to engine (neglect milage i ride from home to office and office to home that's it) so is it good idea to replace stock filter with k and n and they also said there will be increase of performance as well as vibration problem will be cleared and throttle response also gets increase little much. Is it true??
                      5) I wanna replace my chain and sprocket with custom one cause it's my opinion that the stock chain isn't sufficient one to rotate that massive tyre is anyone had doen replacing the stock chain and sprocket with the custom ones is it a better idea???
Please help me with your valuable solutions waiting for your valuable solutions . Thank you

Yes, the vibration persists throughout, from 60kmph to 75kmph
I don't cross 75kmph due to the wobbling, noise and probable stress on engine.
Yes, I drive on a highway like road.

The bike is on Motul Fully Synthetic 10W-40 oil.

By the way, yesterday I filled up Shell V Power petrol in my Bike.
And since then the vibrations have reduced to a great extent.
The bike now easily gets to 70kmph from 60kmph and feels peppier.
Is it just a placebo effect or Shell V Power is really that good ?

Be happy and a reason will come along !

I am latest addition to our proud owner's group of Hornetians.
My Bike is just 2 days old and driven 45kms.
Till now I faced absolutely no issues <touchwood> except some strange sound while riding on bumpers.
But thanks to this group's useful discussions, I had fair idea where was the problem exactly. The stock saree guard was touching some bolt on rear wheel.
I pulled the saree guard manually to make way for it while on bumpers. Now that strange sound is gone and my bike feels very smooth.
Yes some chain sounds are there but showroom people told that sound will fade with time.

If any one wants to suggest me regarding speed limits during initial period or any other important things, plz do tell
