My personal suggestion after reading a lot of oil related queries being answered by experienced riders is not to use fully synthetic oil until 4th servicing is done. Use the recommended engine oil, you can go through your users mannual for the oil grade description.

Hi Friends, Recently am done with 4th servicing. Charged 1400rs. for new chain kit and they didn't accept to change engine oil to Honda throttle so again same 4 stroke engine oil.
Now the issues comes here my bike idle RPM is 1200rpm, but now when i stopped (or) moving its slow down to 2200rpm from that point its taking around 10 seconds to reach idle rpm in between this 10sec am getting acceleration sound like giving throttle. Is this a normal issue (or) any changes in RPM set, should i wait for few more days to observe.
      My Odo is 17800kms.

      Thanks,
      Pranu

For me too, when engine is hot, reaching back to idle RPM takes time. It doesn't go back quickly.
For me it didn't make absurd noise so I pass it, as not a issue.

My Bike is just 2 days old and driven 45kms.
Till now I faced absolutely no issues <touchwood> except some strange sound while riding on bumpers.
But thanks to this group's useful discussions, I had fair idea where was the problem exactly. The stock saree guard was touching some bolt on rear wheel.
I pulled the saree guard manually to make way for it while on bumpers. Now that strange sound is gone and my bike feels very smooth.
Yes some chain sounds are there but showroom people told that sound will fade with time.
If any one wants to suggest me regarding speed limits during initial period or any other important things, plz do tell
        Welcome to the group.
I advice to take care of chain. Tell specifically to service center, only to clean the chain, not lube it (Cleaning is free under free service, otherwise they will charge you 150/- extra). Buy chain lube and lube it in 500Km.

This is the tested method with my 11 year old Unicorn before I upgraded to Hornet. If engine is allowed to settle during run In period, you would not get any engine problem at all. I've seen two year/25K unicorn having engine problem which is mainly because of not taking care of your bike properly.
thanks for replying, but you replied too late. I have already pushed my bike for 120km/hr.

Occasional push won't hurt the engine but do maintain a speed below 70kmph in avg till you complete run in period.

Thanks for that useful advice! I will bear this in mind during my free services. Anyway I have ordered 3M chain cleaner and lubricant. Will use that for chain lubricating.

Brother , to solve this problem reduce cold idle rpm to 1k .On hot engine they will rise to 1.4k (2 points after 1k mark).Thats normal.

I know as a new bike owner you are a bit skeptic about bike care, but cleaning the chain with Kerosene will leave your chain absolutely clean and save some money as well.

[QUOTE=wdrwilfred;1221490]The last bar starts blinking when only ~ 0.7 litres are left in Main or you could possibly go another 30-40 km after blinking till the engine starves.

                    Hi wdrwilfred,
Do you mean firstly last fuel bar will start blinking, then bike will hit reserve and then I have to put it on reserve? Same thing happening in my bike also.

Earlier I had Hero Passion Pro and that bike used to hit reserve first and then after few kms fuel gauge used to start blinking.

I guess it is different in different bike companies, kindly clarify.

Yes what u stated is true.. First the last bar will blink and then it hit the reserve and then u have to switch to reserve..

Hi, i am planning to change the headlights and after going through the previous posts, need a few suggestion/advice:
                              1. Which will be better "LED Light(Headlamp)" or "Auxiliary fog lights" in terms of light and life span?
                              2. Do i need to change setup from AC to DC for any of above options?
                              3. power supply will be direct or from battery?
                              4. will it effect battery life (while searching, i had read a few posts regarding fuse and battery drainage etc.)

I have a std variant of hornet and have done 11,000 km in approx last 1.6 years.

                                Hi Vikas,
This has been discussed in detailed in this forum. I'll summarise points below. I have installed auxiliary on my Hornet, so I can advert l answer your questions.

*Ideally LED headlight should be better than auxiliary. But, Hornet's headlamp reflector design is very poor so it can't totally extract all light thrown by LED bulb. Due to 🔋 limitations, you can't go for 55/60W light either. So you've to stick to 35/35W setup.
In this case, auxiliary is better choice as each one outputs at 14W totalling to 28W at very less power consumption. But you've to make the setup right for angle.
No electrical modifications are required for auxiliary setup. Just join the wires with ignition wire and you're done.
Auxiliary U5 cost around 1100 and 150 labour charge. Whereas LED cost at 1000 with simple plug and play. With auxiliary electrical warranty may get void but not with LED headlight bulb.

Better suggestion is to try LED headlight bulb and if you're not satisfied you can install auxiliary as well.
Since I already installed auxiliary, I'll be replacing stock headlight with Osram Silverstar which costs 150₹.

There are no impacts on 🔋, as long as you use extra lights only when battery is sufficiently charged and only use them when necessary.

I've answered all your questions with extra details. Cheers! [emoji41]
