Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Old Hornet users: Has anyone explored the option to borrow headlamp from Hornet 2018? Any idea how much it is going to cost? I saw some reviewer praising new headlight.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
First you will have to convert from AC to DC, then only you can install LED headlights. Try going to Honda service center and ask them whether you can put the stator coil and RR unit of Hornet or X-blade in your motorcycle. These all have the same engines and drivetrains, so it should be a direct fit but I can't say for sure. That was the easy and safe way, if that's not possible then you will have to get the stator coil rewinding done and get the RR of some other motorcycles by asking experts on xbhp.Originally posted by Parag Sharma View PostPlanning to install Nighteye led headlight. Where will you buy those LED headlights from, Indian websites? These are chinese but good quality LED bulbs, it's cheaper to buy it straight from chinese websites like bangood, aliexpress etc. I bought cnsunnylight LED headlight for my karizma ZMR just last month and I am really happy with it, the brightness is at least 20 times that of a stock halogen bulb. Check this link for more details:

The new Hornet and X-Blade still have AC with LED headlamps.Originally posted by arya809 View PostFirst you will have to convert from AC to DC, then only you can install LED headlights. Two ways local mechanics fix it is by direct connection by battery or using the pilot lamp connection which is DC.

You can have the wiring done from known mechanic... My mechanic took the wires coming from pass switch (pass switch is DC) to transfer power to headlight effectively making it DC ...Originally posted by Parag Sharma View PostPlanning to install Nighteye led headlight. Buy a led bulb with cree led chips rather than cob led chips... Cree chips produce more light and are effecient

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
WHAT?? I thought Honda would be decent enough to provide full DC for LED headlights in X-blade and I only assumed it would be DC in Hornet due to it being premium offering.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThe new Hornet and X-Blade still have AC with LED headlamps.

I am looking forward to install better LED lights in my brother's 2018 CB Unicorn 160. I too had similar (to the mechanics) plans i.e. to connect the stock halogen bulb to battery directly initially to check whether the battery charges properly or not with 35w load. Based on the results I will plan how much wattage should be the new LED bulb. Can you tell me straight-away what will happen if I connect the stock 35w bulb to battery directly?
BTW can you tell me whether those aliexpress LED bulbs consume the stated watts or the wattage figure is inflated?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Guys I am having a strange problem in my new hornet. Whenever i push the bike from side stand i hear tak tak sound from rear of my bike. I checked the chain slack, chain lubrication, and roted the wheel on main stand but didnot notice any sound. After reporting to service center they lubricated the swingarm bearing and wheel bearing, and the sound had gone, but after 2 days again the sound has come while lifting my bike from side stand. Is my swingarm bearing are damaged, please help me [emoji22][emoji22]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello friends
i always like hornet 160 design ,but the only thing i didn't like are the switch gear on the 2017 model
now 2018 hornet 160 switch gear feels better but with seal chain ,new led lamp the price increased by almost 4 thousand compared to 2017model
my nearest Honda showroom are planing to clear their stock of 2017 model and offering great discounts as mush as 5k,since there is no change in
engine specifications b/w 2017 and 2018 model . i am thinking about the 2017 model and save the 5k for proper riding gear
I just want to know can we install the 2018 model switch gear on 2017 model? did anyone tried it
please let me know and attach few pics
ThanksLast edited by krishna_j; 05-28-2018, 02:36 AM.
