Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I have edited the post adding a pic showing the hole and the other welded plug like thing. It would be nice if someone check the same in their bike and reply. Peace of mind, you know !!!Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostWater drain hole, normal and present in all vehicles. That box shaped part is the lowest part in the exhaust system, so the hole is placed there. About the other thing - a pic in decent lighting will help.

Both are normal and present in all Hondas - the hole and the spot weld-like marks.Originally posted by unik View PostI have edited the post adding a pic showing the hole and the other welded plug like thing. You have scrapped the silencer near the water drain hole, again doesn't look deep. Ignore.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
To adjust the rear monoshock, I think, you need the specific tool called pin spanner. I have this and adjusted the rear shock to max. stiffness. Some guys told me the CBR toolkits have this item but not provided with Hornet. Service guys, I don't know why, always stay away from adjusting the monoshock. But it is a very easy job if you have the tool.Originally posted by Venuinturi View PostCan someone suggest if I can adjust the suspension. Service center guys have no idea if there is an option for. You need to do exactly same as this video.Originally posted by Venuinturi View PostCan someone suggest if I can adjust the suspension. Service center guys have no idea if there is an option for. Adjustment.
Go to ASC and ask them to adjust it. There are three adjustment settings.
If they say they don't have tool. Look if there is any CBR for service. Request to use the tool.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Completed first long ride 420 km (if you consider it as long ) on hornet.
The things i noticed-
1) ride was very smooth completed it in 9 hrs and took 3 small break and 1 break for dinner.
2) no heating problem with engine.
3) sitting posture is very good, didn't felt any tiredness after the ride.
4) once bike didn't started, so i did some troubleshooting explained in this forum, removed my document bad from under the seat and problem was solved.
5) i tried full throttle but it feels impossible to go beyond 110kmph, i did it again amd the same condition, after doing the same for 3rd time it easily reached 123kmph. (If you explain).
6) cornoring was fun on this bike.
This is my first long ride and i started loving this bike more after this ride.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Some questions regarding modification on behalf of my friend.
1) He wants to include hazard light feature. Also he likes to place a switch for headlamp on/off instead of AHO, but retaining the position lights as DRLs as it is now. What is the conversion then?
2) He wants to convert the entire switch gear to a set having engine kill switch, *hazard light switch*, self-start, high beam flasher, turn signal, headlight on/off, high/low beam toggle, horn. Which are the options? His Hornet is the AHO one. So RHS switch gear miss the headlight on/off switch.
3) He likes to change the colour of wheels from black to striking green!! (Similar to KTMs, some Yamaha super bikes etc.) Is it wrapping or painting the alloy? How and Where is this done? How much does this cost? We don't have any idea here

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I got the gasket oil filter cap from Hero service centre. It is not available at any Honda service centre/authorised parts dealer at Guwahati. Part number is 15459KWK900S, slightly different from Honda catalogue with the letter "S". It should fit in Hornet.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostThe parts catalogue of Hornet, Unicorn 150 and CBZ Extreme (2011 Edition catalogue) all mention "15459-KWK-900" for that gasket. If not able to get from HMSI at 12k, get it from Hero.

This also shows that Hero aftersales service is way better than Honda.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostI got the gasket oil filter cap from Hero service centre.
