Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yes i enquired for the tank cowl sticker and won't get only the sticker separately that is what they(svc) told me.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostVisit your nearest SVC and inquire about the stickers.
Are you sure about that? Stickers are always sold separately

Not sure bro..Originally posted by kkarthik View PostBy any chance can we get it covered under insurance?

One side cover might cost around 1200 maybe and crash guard maybe 800
Plus service charges of SVC.
Don't know up to how much the insurance will pay for fiber parts.
Don't know if crash guard is covered under insurance.
Claiming insurance will affect on no claim bonus for next paying premium
So don't know if it's worth claiming insurance.

Yes sure you can get it covered under insurance. Just apply for insurance and provide them the information about how the scratches happened and they will cover the costs.Originally posted by kkarthik View PostBy any chance can we get it covered under insurance?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Shifting to 5th is very delicate and sometime we don't notice. I have noticed it just few times.Originally posted by kkarthik View PostHi,
I am seeing some problem with gear shift in my bike. Sometimes when I shift from 4th to 5th gear, I observe internal gear is not actually shifting. After sometime, some kind of jerk happens in gear box then bike gets actual 5th gear acceleration. Do anyone know why it is happening like this?
Let's hope it not the issue of gear malfunction, (Hero Hunk has this issue and it's nightmare. gear get stuck in middle and bike roars like you are in neutral.).
Probably just a glitch, try little more push at 5th gear shifting.

Oh. Even I was surprised. I thought it will last at least 15k km.Originally posted by mac4rfree View PostI changed mine at 15k.. but mine itself was too quick they said.. I guess it's all depends on how we ride..
I don't drive too agressively. In hindsight, this was my first bike. I learned to ride on this. Maybe during the days when I was learning, I probably didn't ride smoothly. That's one reason, I guess.

It depends on how well we maintain the chain by tightening it on time and applying lube periodically. Chain lasts longer if you take care of it very well. Unfortunately, we've seen prolonged rain last year, which may resulted in pre-mature chain wear-out as we will not be in a situation to clean the chain every day. Otherwise, these chain should last for about 20K kms.Originally posted by nsp92 View PostOh. Even I was surprised. I thought it will last at least 15k km.

MRFs are not bad. I'm happy with the performance of the stock MRF tyre. However, if you can shell out bit extra for other tyres, please go for it. However, please check for the hardness of the tyre. Some tyres has softer compound compared to MRF, which gives you super grip on the road, however, you will compromise on the early wear out and prone to punctures.Originally posted by mac4rfree View PostI have done almost 26000 KMs now. In my rear tyre, there are 3 punctures. Even though am filling it up, there is a loss of almost 4 psi everyday. Right now am filling air on 3 days once basis.
Planning to change the tyres, may be by this month end.
Any sugesstions? I read about MRF masseter some replies back.. Anyone actually using it with Hornet? Any reviews or any other suggesstions are welcomed.
And also how much is the tyre if you have bought it.
Cheers!!!
Please check if alloy wheel has any deformity before replacing the tyre. Also, maintain the optimal air pressure mentioned in the owners manual. Most of us tend to maintain 36 or whatever the petrol bunk attendant keeps.

I've seen a bike with lemon yellow pinstripe sticketing, which looks neat and simple. Please search in FB for the image. That will be my next cosmetic change if at all the stickers gets pealed off or attracts scratches while bike is parkedOriginally posted by kkarthik View PostDid any one tried to change the sticker for Green bike?
If yes please let me know how is the look.
My bike fell down and the sticker on the fuel tank got damaged. Will honda provide the new stickers for the bike?

I've heard about complaint while shifting between 1st and 2nd as it will get stuck in false neutral. However, I've never experienced 4th to 5th gear shifting issues. it is the most smooth as the engine will be revving at higher speed.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostShifting to 5th is very delicate and sometime we don't notice. Please have it checked with the ASC as it may be unique problem to only few bikes.

Check the condition of the chain yourself. The SVC sometimes tries to loot unsuspecting customers by asking for unnecessary replacements. Happens with all brands.Originally posted by nsp92 View PostASC suggested chain sprocket change. Bike has run only 11k km.
Expected?
