Hi me too facing the same issue.
Please let me know additional details of carb needle. Which needle to change? Is the dazzler part exact replacement or not.
Asking because my warranty may not be honoured as I my free services were not done.

Tell him to ride your bike, you being the pillion rider. The lag is more pronounced on load/pillion.
The issue was faced by many as I read in WhatsApp groups.Ideally Honda do need to do recall on this issue as it relates to faulty part/parts supply from factory.
There fueling is problematic in 5k-6k rpm when the engine is on load/throttle. Engine feels lack of fuel supply and the acceleration is severely hampered at this rpm range.

Aforementioned mentioned in few page back. As per contract ASC can void warrantee if other oil is used than Honda, if found.
Its seems nuisance but this is what it is.

Go for Motul 7100 or Honda Throttle. Honda Throttle works fine. I changed after 4k and oil was in good condition to go 2k more for sure.
Sorry for the late update. Thanks anoopkumar0 and Duke1990 for suggesting me to stick to Honda Throttle for warranty issues and better performance.
On the day of the service I insisted on using Honda Throttle on my bike. They agreed after a bit of persuasion. They told me that oil will changed in front of me, when I will come to collect my bike.

After riding the bike with Honda Throttle. I felt the improvement in smoothness right away. Vibrations have reduced. But I still have a distinctive sound (krrrr type sound) after crossing 80 in fifth gear.

Let's see what they bring in the 2018 Hornet. If the front sprocket costs the same, it would be the same material w.r.t. strength. The good thing is Rolon and TI Cycles will roll out their own kits for 2018 Hornet if it comes with O-ring chain.
Hornet stock sprocket is made by Rolon and so is Gixxer's. But Gixxer's sprocket, chain quality is much better and weighs significantly more (understandably so because it is an oring). 2018 Hornet brings some changes with it ie. LED lamps, optional ABS etc. Not sure of the chain and pitch though.

The SVCs have a habit of denying/avoiding warranty claims. In that case raise a complaint on the Honda website. The SVC will immediately call you and deal with the issue. Atleast that is the case here in Bangalore. He cannot close the complaint unless you sign the form saying you are satisfied with the solution.
Do not sign unless you are really satisfied.
You will have to fight to have the work done.

Of the many Youtube videos available, in many it is clear that they have added a red/green (wear indicator) sticker near the axle bolt (LHS). This sticker is necessary because an o-ring kit should not be allowed to wear out till the axle bolt reaches its end-of-travel, for safety. Also, X-blade 160 and Hornet 2018 both would come with o-ring chains.

These are my wild guesses .

Sprockets of Suzuki are not interchangeable with Honda? - especially the rear one won't fit, I think. If possible that is possible, it will overgear the Hornet's final ratio to 3.00 from stock 3.13.

Keep it. It will last at least 5k, even at high speed. No need to burn pocket unnecessarily.
Enjoy your ride.

Fully synthetic oil > Change interval ~6000-8000kms.

Bike skid to right side and fell down while running like 15kmph like that when applied front break , no big visible damages but bike not moving freely like before and feeling something struck like that when driving and engine sound also changes what to check to fix this ?

Check the steering column...
Inspect whether alloys or disc have been damaged...
Show it to the SVC...

What is your Best, Worst and Average mileage in your bike.

Here is my Bike's report card for last 8 months of happy ownership.
Best: 53.67 - as it was run well within 50kmpl during initial run-in period
Worst: 38.86 - this was during my recent 1200kms solo round trip. And I held the throttle at 95 to 105kmph cruising speed constantly.
Average: 48.35 - I'm super happy as I was expecting any where between 40 and 45kmpl as my 80% of commute is in peak hour city traffic.

Hi all, I have a weird mileage issue in my bike. During the first 1000 Kms, I got an average of 33 Kms, with normal driving, never above 90 kmph and a decent break-in. I went to the service center (Tansi Honda, Ramagondanahalli), they performed a mileage test, and driving at ~40kmph, they managed to get 47 kmpl. They said they will do some adjustments, and did some tappet adjustment, reduced the idle and gave the bike back to me. This time, I got around 36 Kmph, with very fuel economy mindful driving. When I took it back, they refused to take it, had to argue for 3 hours before the Service General Manager himself took for a test drive, drove normally with around 50 kmph top speed and got only 40 kmpl. I told him this is how it is and if I cruise at 60 kmph, this goes down even more. He agreed, took the bike, and they replaced Jet needle in the carb and gave it back, claiming they got 60 Kmph when driving in economy mode. I drove, and surprise, I got 36 km. I figured there might be a very minor leak, and closed the petcock every night. Ended up getting 42-46 kmph. 45.6 kmph when cruising at 90 kmph on a trip to Vellore. However, if I left the petcock on, the poor mileage returns. The ASC tried to reproduce the issue, but they could not, and got 44 kmpl for a litre, with the fuel cock on over the course of three days. I took it back, filled with 100 Rs worth of petrol on friday, and bike hit reserve on Monday with 36km on the trip meter. Note that there is no way someone is stealing the fuel. The vehicle is in shade both at home and office. What could be the issue? The mechanic told me that people only get 35 kmpl in Hornets. Is it true? Is it possible that the carb might be slowly leaking fuel so that I see a mileage issue only when I take longer to consume a litre of fuel? My next step is to get a Mileage testing bottle, fill it with some petrol and let it hang overnight to see any reduction in fuel level. My suspicion is that there is some minor issue with the float. How do I prove it? The AFR is perfect since the mechanic showed be a good maroon burn in the Carb. He is very polite, hence I don't wish to override him, but he says he cannot report this to Honda and get the Carb replaced since he cannot reproduce the issue. What do you think I should do?

Sorry for the long post. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello guys,

Can the low end torque be increased, without compromising a lot on the performance and overall health of the bike ?
I want to make my bike peppier like Gixxer.

Be happy and a reason will come along !

Hope you saw my earlier post. I’m getting a decent mileage of 48.35kmpl average. And I always tested full tank to full tank method (there is a mark inside the tank that I always refer when I say full tank and not to the brim).
And I always touch 80+ in open city stretch. Also my commute is in peak hours.

Importantly, do not check the mileage by just filling petrol for ₹100 or 1 or 2 liters. Ideal method is either to check reserve to reserve method.

So please have your bike checked properly as Hornet is a very reliable bike when you compare power+performance+mileage.

And mileage is mainly dependent on the rising style as well. May be individuals braking and acceleration method may vary drastically.
