Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I mostly do it for 4th and 5th.. 6k +rpm.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostAre you able to do it for all gears, especially 1 to 2 as the gap (ratio, not mechanical) between them is larger. At what RPM do you do it?
2nd is almost impossible and 3rd is quite rough.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Bengaluru guys, I have a 5k kms used Hornet/FZ25 rear tyre (they're the same). Looking to sell it for around 1.5k. No punctures, only ridden on outer ring road. (Reason - owner not happy with grip, he upgraded).
PM me if interested.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hornet & FZ tyres are not the same. Hornet tyre is of 70 aspect ratio while FZ has 60 aspect ratio tyre although width & diameter are the same in both cases. Hornet has to overcome a lot of drag due to the heavier rear tyre and so performance is not that much superior as compared to FZ.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostBengaluru guys, I have a 5k kms used Hornet/FZ25 rear tyre (they're the same). The FZ25 has the same 140/70 tyre as the Hornet. The FZ16 has the 140/60 tyre.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostHornet & FZ tyres are not the same. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I did First long ride (~250km) on hornet yesterday with pillion. Let me make list what are my thoughts.
1) it was comfertable for me but for pillion no more rides. May be because of roads, to clear view I did 120km in 3hrs.
2) shoks on stiffer side, i know its adjustable for now its on company default.
3) maximum speed i achived is 110 kmph on 8500rpm.
4) Headlight in night ride are ok for 50kmph beyond that i felt discomfort.
5) breaks are really good on hornet ( i have cbs version though i rarely use back break i am more comfortable with front)
I have some doubts, if anyone can help.
A) till 75kmph no vibration but after 80kmph there are vibrations, is that ok with our bike or should i check?
B) Performance drop after an hour ride, i think its because of engine oil. I canged oil in first service at 960km on odo now i am at 2100 km. What is the reason behind this ?
C) i think i should do shoks settings to softer side, is there any stability issue if i do this?
D) any recommendations on headlamps ?
I am still reading this thread, now i am on page 70.
Thanks.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
The heavier 140/70 on hornet is just for aesthetics! Almost all japanese nakeds use low profile tyres.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostHornet & FZ tyres are not the same. A 140/60 tyre on hornet will be alot better than stock for overall perfomance and handling, even the chain life.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Try using Dual 9 led light which can be mounted on handle.. i am using same setup on my Honda Twister and it seems to be perfect i keep my left light litter further and right light litter narrow. It is perfect setup for me and i drive at night a lot. I have bought generic china 9 led light.Originally posted by sachin170 View PostI did First long ride (~250km) on hornet yesterday with pillion. Your bike is still new. I felt refinement improvement till 7k odo.Originally posted by sachin170 View PostI did First long ride (~250km) on hornet yesterday with pillion. Let me make list what are my thoughts.

For vibration, there will be a small rpm range with roughness. But before it and later bike is smooth.
I feel bike perfoms much better with time as it goes on highway. Recently I did a trip see signature.
C) I also drive with pillion , I have adjusted shocker to 2 point softer side. It much better that way.
D) Stock headlamp is crap. I changed to aftermarket philips 140/- works fine. But for speed over 60 you will definitely need Auxillary lamps.------------------

I already seen your tlog, and i loved it. Atleast now i am sure my hornet will stretch long distances without and problem.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostYour bike is still new. I felt refinement improvement till 7k odo.

How did you mount Auxiliary on handle bar? Did you use some clamp?
Please share photos.
Currently I've mounted it on leg guard but then illumination isn't that great at it spreads a lot.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys just changed my air filter at 8000 km ... Got real dirty ...
The pics are for new one..
I just removed the suction cover from top not the whole cover and boy it sounds amazing...

This is the suction cover i am referring to...
My question is there any harm in doing so...???
Will it damage the engine...??? Do i need to make changes to carbeurattor .....
I won't mind change in mileage or changing air filter soon....
Btw the throttle becomes more free and the revs climb more easily...
Also i feel the torque slightly increased...
