At the time if accident I was wearing Studds Shifter helmet which is DOT certified, although the helmet saved my life and reduced injuries alot I have the feeling a more better helmet could have reduced my injuries.
That's some serious accident. Hope you are recovering quickly.

One of my friends has fitted the gixxer's O-ring chain to the hornet (with the stock sprockets). The protective plate has been removed from the rear sprocket (Credit - iamkrazee). Same pitch, 132 links, costed ₹744 for the chain alone.

Perfect fit, as you can see below. Chain noise is non existent according to his experience.

This is a fantastic positive modification. I hope he can easily use this kit for 30k kms or more. Honda should have provided an o-ring chain like in the Dazzler.

Why so much rust - does he live near the coast? How much has the vehicle done?

Looks like the chain lock is fitted in the wrong direction, please ask him to check it.

The master link was indeed fitted in the wrong direction, he has corrected that.

He lives in Chennai near the coast, hence the rust. His bike has done around 30k kms, the previous chain/sprocket set were in very bad shape and were giving him trouble from the last 20k kms.

This is really great mod! But is it safe to do so? Will there be any issue such as chain breaking or damage to sprockets?

None as the pitch and even the links are the same. There might be little more resistance than stock chain - not significant.

The gixxer's chain looked beefier than the hornet's stock chain (I remember seeing your post about the GS150R's chain and asked him to compare). I think that this chain will have increased resistance to wear.

Rolon's chain for GS was thicker than the OEM DID. Already one of us is using the Gixxer's chain in the GS with no problems, the beautiful thing - it was the SA who advised that to the rider ! Yes, it will require adjustments less frequently and as you already said, noise would be less compared to stock.

Thanks to all! This is really great, I'm eager to try this once my current chain sprocket ends it's life.
What's the difference in price of both?
Can we get similar chain at Honda, manufactured for CBR?

The only o-ring .428 pitch chain by Honda in India was in the Dazzler, which has 128 links compared to the 132 links of the hornet's chain. Gixxer's chain costs ₹744 and the full set for the hornet costs ₹1050. You'll have to spend ₹1800 and then keep the hornet's chain as a spare/sell it.
