Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
my chain has reached its last end i min it was loose and when i fixed it i saw there in no space left to adjust in the swing arm. After seeing this post i am eager to buy gixxer chain. Will it hamper acceleration and mileage and any down side to this modification ?Originally posted by shashank k r View Post

No downsides. 130/70 will make the gearing slightly shorter, i.e., you'll gain a little acceleration in exchange for top speed.Originally posted by Duke1990 View Postmy chain has reached its last end i min it was loose and when i fixed it i saw there in no space left to adjust in the swing arm. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Honda doesn't sell sprockets seperately ? AFAIK, any part with inidividual part number can be ordered and bought seperately but I guess SVC pushes only for kits.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThe only o-ring .428 pitch chain by Honda in India was in the Dazzler, which has 128 links compared to the 132 links of the hornet's chain. Gixxer's chain costs ₹744 and the full set for the hornet costs ₹1050. You'll have to spend ₹1800 and then keep the hornet's chain as a spare/sell it.

I searched for the sprockets alone here in Bengaluru, I could easily find the front sprocket (15T). The rear wasn't available anywhere separately.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostHonda doesn't sell sprockets seperately ? 46T from CBZ - should be available with Hero SVCs. I think it would fit the hub and comes sans that metal ring. It would slightly overgear the Hornet.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostI searched for the sprockets alone here in Bengaluru, I could easily find the front sprocket (15T). I think the stock setup is the best. The bike is already a little sluggish at the bottom end and the 46T may make it slightly worseOriginally posted by ashwanth.r View Post46T from CBZ - should be available with Hero SVCs. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello guys,
I am following this thread, and finally settled with Hornet. I booked today, dealer saying next Thursday they will give me the bike. We settled deal for 1,03,000( with some accessories).
Is there anything i should inspect for before i get delivery? Any tips for good ride and maintenance of hornet?

Do a thorough PDI check. You can find that checklist on internet easily. In the beginning, just ride slowly and sanely for 1000-1500 km. Do basic maintenance of bike. Nothing is complex in this bike. Take care!Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Sent a mail to Honda yesterday asking whether the 160cc has problems like overheating or water entering the engine sump. Surprisingly, they replied back within a couple of hours asking my contact no. Just half hour back, someone from Honda called just to say he is not supposed to talk about it (I had asked their findings which of course is confidential to them). He wanted me to contact the nearest dealer for the answers and do a TD. I thanked him and disconnected with a pseudosatisfaction that India's 2nd largest 2 wheeler company at least contacted me - I thought they would never. Suzuki too is very prompt in dealing cases coming to their c-care.

Your experience is one of the reasons I thought they would never call or probably shoot some generic reply. vaRider and others, at any point did you feel you should have bought some other bike - say moments like rude SVC, a breakdown in middle of no where or niggles that can't be solved.Originally posted by vaRider View PostYou got lucky bro due to your simple question. Yeah that's right! My bike started rusting too early and add it to incompetent ASC, my experience just got totally bad.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostYour experience is one of the reasons I thought they would never call or probably shoot some generic reply. At some point I was so frustrated, that I wanted to end Honda ownership and get some other bike. Or go back in past and not to buy hornet! [emoji13]
Anyways, in future I will buy some premium bike only. No more entry level bikes.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

- Take care of chain cleaning and lube at regular interval.
- You mostly need to chain tightening after 2 months.
Rest is fine. Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks for this info.
Finally yesterday i got my bike in striking green color.
I did PDI and there are scratches on pillion handle grip and dent on front side wind shield (i don't know what to call it specifically) they replaced it with another new honet parts.
Air filter cover was damaged, its like rat eaten that so i checked wiring too, and he replaced that.
Yesterday i did 40 km to my home ( so many path holes on road, better to say so much road on path holes), suspension was ok(again i am coming from old passion), engine sound is very low.my papa also like the bike, i got some bike gyan from him 😁.
A question friends - when i check tyre pressure it was at front - 30 and back 40. I said local mechanic to reduce to recommended value, but he said it is perfect for our roads. I check this thread one guy filled it back - 35 PSI . is there any problem with the pressure? should i reduce to recommended value ?
thanks for the break in thread. I am going with traditional method as it's my first bike😄Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostLook here: https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcy...on-thread.html
