Finally yesterday i got my bike in striking green color.
I did PDI and there are scratches on pillion handle grip and dent on front side wind shield (i don't know what to call it specifically) they replaced it with another new honet parts.
Air filter cover was damaged, its like rat eaten that so i checked wiring too, and he replaced that.
Yesterday i did 40 km to my home ( so many path holes on road, better to say so much road on path holes), suspension was ok(again i am coming from old passion), engine sound is very low.my papa also like the bike, i got some bike gyan from him 😁.

A question friends - when i check tyre pressure it was at front - 30 and back 40. I said local mechanic to reduce to recommended value, but he said it is perfect for our roads. I check this thread one guy filled it back - 35 PSI . is there any problem with the pressure? should i reduce to recommended value ?

thanks for the break in thread. I am going with traditional method as it's my first bike😄
    Great! Congrats!
I've been using 25/27 or 25/29 while single and with pilion respectively.

As I'm a little heavy person, I keep 27 in rear instead of 25. Bike is doing good with that tire pressure and overall wear and tear is okay. Too much pressure will damage only Central thread of tire and low grip.

Adjust and try it yourself for few days and see what you feel.
    Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

In the front as well as rear tire sidewall (for stock MRF tires) it is written Max. Cold pressure is 33 psi (230 kPa). Most probably it is meant for max. load rating. But it would be good if we do not go past the manufacturer recommendations ( they know the product better than us, don't they? ). Also most people are not referring to cold air pressure as even for a few kms ridden the tire gets enough hot for the air to expand and values will be high.

(In my experience,) in most air filling stations they use the same setting for visually similar bikes such as Hornet, FZ, Gixxer etc. and use values like 29 for front and 33 for rear tire. I could easily know the difference as I can feel the roughness of road very much but nothing to be afraid of like loss of grip or something. Looking forward to see if it harm the tire...I cannot find anything bad as of now.

      I need some advice.

      1) For the past few days, the bike is not starting as easy as before. In the morning, I kick start the bike (without choke, a little throttle) let it idle for 1 or 2 mins. It was very smooth and bike start in first kick. But now it takes 4 to 5 kicks and no other problems. Is it because of weather ( cold mornings of December, temp. near 25 deg.C ) ?

      2) The chain tend to loose frequently. I adjust it every 500 km, clean and lube it regularly every week . But it seems the chain can keep the proper tension only for a few days. It is annoying even though it does not make any noise. Does others have the same problem?

      3) Do we have to keep the AHO function intact? With headlights on, it gets relatively hot even after a few kms of riding. Even though it is not visibly harming anything, I got a feeling like it is not good. Let only the pilot lamps be always ON and headlight can be switched off. Does this setup cause any trouble...legal and/or warranty issues? It is only 4000 km and nearing second free service.

      4) Does the engine oil needs to be changed in between the 6 months/6000 km service interval ? Honda mineral oil lasts that much or we have to change in between or use synthetic oil from next service onwards...which is better option?

        1. Cold weather effect the warming up engine. You can keep the choke on while starting idle in morning.
        2. Do you have to adjust chain very frequently? Chain should not get loosen up frequently after one or two adjustment.
        3. While riding in morning be rev steadily till 4-5 Km. It will preven overheating.
        4. Mineral oil lost 3000Km, You should be changing the mineral oil in 3k Km interval.

Have completed two initial service? Hornet feel rough till 2nd service / 6k Kms.

          Thanks for the reply.
The start issue is not a big problem. I'm just enquiring. It is there only for the first start. Anyway I will check the choke option.

The chain is loose not all of a sudden. But yes the adjustment last only a few hundred km. At about 500 km intervals I adjust it . By then it touches the swingarm.

Point 3 is misunderstood. I was talking about headlight getting hot as it is on always, not engine heating. Also I consider installing a switch for headlight.

The second free service is nearing. I will complete only 5k km then and now has 4k km in odo. I'm not going to buy engine oil for just 1000 km or less. The oil is not that dirty now. I think it will last. Consider the 3k interval from then on.
Also I am okay with the engine. It is not that harsh. Actually it is quite smooth now a days. I wonder how smooth it will be when it is smooth !

ride about 30km uphill. here are pics of new hornet. smooth while climbing, always below 5000 rpm mark.

getting chain noise when coming down ( engine off ), i think its common in hornets.

The image says it all. I park my motorcycle for a few hours and return to find water inside the display. A few days after that, water suddenly even started dripping from the rear-view mirror(god knows how). Anyway, this image was taken a few weeks back. Right now the display is....well there ain't anything being shown by the display. It's blank. Even the neutral light stays on all the time. The water inside the glass pane evaporates and condenses back on the inside of the glass itself. I took this issue to a local mechanic who said that if evaporation didn't work, then the whole display had to be changed.

Any bright ideas to drain the water and bring back my display?

That water can be permanently evaporated by exposing the display to heat for longer time.

1 ride in sunlight for few hours
2 put some hot object over display
                3 open up display assembly
                4 complain to Honda

I mean mine is with ladies foot rest where as the others are without foot rest.

                      Even the design is different.

As of now only 2 pics. Zooming in can give you the idea. Mine is missing the plastic/fibre part.Click image for larger version

Okay.. foot rest comes pre-fitted.. that's good to know. Imho, previous saree guard design is much better as it suits bike.

Water dripping from RVMs is normal, they have a hole to drain the accumulated rain water. Coming to the speedo console, what VaRider told, i.e. driving or parking in direct sunlight would help. Replace the button that is missing, or the console cover and its gasket. Otherwise, again same problem would surface.
