  • Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences

I met with a small accident a few months back when the vehicle in front of me took a sudden 'U' turn. Ended up with a small fracture of the left shoulder (recovered in 2months). I must say that the bike took the fall well and the fiber parts suffered extensive scratches, but did not shatter. The crash guard bore the brunt of the hit.
Parts may not look or feel premium but they are certainly not of inferior quality.

P.S : Please ignore the last image. It does not relate to the accident.

This is in connection with the chain/sprocket/plate sound for which you had suggested a remedy. If i were to change the chain, sprocket kit to that of Gixxer or FZ (since they have the same specifications) i presume there would be no sound/clatter since the sprocket of those bikes does not come with a cover plate.
    Is my understanding right?

Need help with chain slack measurement.

Third service completed over 1month back. Bike ran over 1k km in the past one month. Just cleaned the chain and found the chain slack to be very high.

Is this much amount of chain slack usual? Or should I get it adjusted?

Any tips for adjustment by myself?

Hey guys can anybody recommend what company brake master cylinder should i use for front brakes in hornet....
Brakes no doubt are good but the initial bite isn't there though the feedback is very good...
The nisin brakes are top notch...
Should i use thunderbird or rs200 or dominar...
          Any advice for that...

Are these pads better than Nissin?
I read somewhere Nissin breaks are quality product. Price is almost similar.
I would rather go with the original OEM Brake pads than these after market. Brakes are the ones which saves our life. I cannot trust some unbranded ones. And even if it is Branded, I would buy from authorized dealer as there are many duplicate parts available in the market.

Yes, Also CBR 250 all versions uses NISSIN breaks. I don't see why to go with after market.

                    Hello guys,

My hornet's chain is getting loose after every 15 days or so.
And as a result, the ride quality is getting worse, vibrations are increasing, pickup is decreasing.

My daily ride is not more than 15kms.
I do the bike servicing after every two or three months.

Is there any permanent solution to this problem ?

It's very unlikely to get is slacked within 250Km. Also, you get it tightened for 3-5 times only after that the buffer will be exhausted and you have to replace the chain.

I know that, but that's what is happening.

What ASC is saying? What is your ODO.

Haven't visited the ASC after 3rd servicing.
Did the 4th and 5th servicing at two different local mechanics.

KMs on ODO are around 9,000

My trip reset button is missing. Not sure if flew off during wash or some nuisance kid did it. Any idea ASC can provide it ?
