Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
You don't need 20W50 on CD100, unless you plan on revving it really hard. 20W40 is just fine. It works perfectly on my dad's CD100 & my Splendor Pro.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostYes, 40° is some serious heat, 20w is definitely the way to go. I'm pretty sure throttle would crap out pretty easily in such a hot climate. Also I've been using 20w50 in my CD100 from quite a while now
.
Throttle is kind of okay in Bengaluru climate, it's better than Honda mineral water.[My Motorcycles]

On 20w40, the engine heats up quite a lot. Plus it's old (factory borekit done 1L+ ), so went for 20w50 as the clearances would've increased.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostYou don't need 20W50 on CD100, unless you plan on revving it really hard. 20W40 is just fine. The bike feels much smoother and vibrates much lesser with 20w50.

3.8k km doneOriginally posted by irfanlskr View PostMy bike jerks while accelerating in 3-5th gear at lower rpms ( 3k-4.5k). It’s almost like the bike is gonna stall and stop. Also, gear slips out of transmission under hard acceleration (happens at 5th gear only). What might be the problem?
Please help ;_;

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Show it to honda svc. We can't suggest anything without seeing the bike. Have you checked air filter, check carburetor setting too, also check whether acceleration cable is jamm or not,also observe clutch freeplay, and clutch setting.Originally posted by irfanlskr View Post3.8k km done

Also drain the existing petrol from your tank, clean it and put fresh petrol [emoji618]Last edited by #bpk; 11-15-2018, 10:47 PM.

Oh! Didn't realise it's an old factory borekit. Thought those weren't used anymore. They were used in first gen CD100 which actually had a 1L engine.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostOn 20w40, the engine heats up quite a lot. Yeah it's now nearly 25 years old. Bore, piston, valves are all stock and untouched. Only things changed are the timing chain and the clutch pack.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostOh! My dad also had a 1987 silver model CD100. Too bad I don't have any colored pics of it. It was there with us till 2005 and had the 1L engine. Thing had a top speed of 85+ kmph without any issues.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostYeah it's now nearly 25 years old. Bore, piston, valves are all stock and untouched. Something like stalling.Originally posted by aishwary23 View PostWhat kind of jerking? Can you explain with some details?
By jerking you refer to vibrations or something like stalling?
Moreover, you should get the carb checked.
Already visited SVC twice.. problem still persists
