Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
T10 bulb.... You can change it to led but due to ineffecient heat dissipation it fuses early than halogen...Originally posted by Rohit3235 View PostWhich kind of bulb is used for the number plate? Thinking of changing it to led one.
HalogenT10 bulb 5watt
Led T10 bulb 0.5-1watt
You can also get CREE LED T10 bulb which is brighter and more effecient but uses more energy....

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I have Philips T10 LED in spare. I have heard of fusing headlamp LEDs due to insufficient head dissipation which are around 23-35watts. But T10 consumes only 1-watt I don’t think heat will be a issue for thisOriginally posted by adityagaur51 View PostT10 bulb.... Lets try how does it work for this.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guyzz , Whats up.....
This is a kind off-topic of hornet160R...
Wanted to know your answers for this one...
Actually am a proud owner of hornet 160R and its features (except its lesser low end grunt)
Am a lover of good performance/tourer bikes,.. I like their instant response on acceleration as well engaging engine for long rides..
In future (at least not for next 3,4 years) I likes to upgrade to a bike that has performance, smooth engine as well decent mileage (at least around 40. Am looking for around 250cc engine...
So, which bike is best in your opinions that meets all my expectations,
At present, I think fz250 meets my expectations, so what do you think about it...

3-4 years is a long time and many bikes can be launched. There is a word that the gixxer 250 will be launched. Upgrading from a Hornet 160 to FZ25 won't be a major upgrade. You may feel that it is exciting to ride a FZ25 now but you'll soon (within a month or two) get used to its power. A good upgrade will be something that has at least 30+ bhp. (considering that you have no budget constraints)Originally posted by gowthamh View PostHey guyzz , Whats up.....

I currently own an RTR 200 and I'm planning to upgrade to a Duke 390 or the Interceptor 650 in 4-5 years. And about the power thingy, I hadn't ridden bikes with more than 15 bhp extensively (I had some rides in Pulsar AS 200 with my friend as a pillion but due to doubling, the extra power was not felt that much) before buying the RTR 200. My bike has enough power and acceleration and is fun to ride but it does not surprise me with its power and acceleration as it did in the first few weeks of ownership.

Even you will find more advanced bikes though offered with great features as well. Many updated versions of current model as well.

Yes agreed about your statements... But I want a bike that is not just performance oriented alone(ktm kind of bikes)... I want the bike to be decent powered (around 300cc)...Originally posted by ayrus View Post3-4 years is a long time and many bikes can be launched. Problem with high power bikes are lack of good mileage,
Am not a super rich guy to spend a bang from my salary to bike fuel.. that's why I told as I will be ok with around 300cc.. moreover it should be at least manageable for pillion ride/comfort as well...
Yes in 3/4 years ,so many good bikes will arrive, ok then I will point my question towards present market bikes...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Given your requirements, FZ25 is just perfect. Except for the lack of ABS, everything else is VFM on it. Currently priced at ₹1.37L OTR here. Returns a good 40+ FE on sensible riding.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostYes agreed about your statements... But I want a bike that is not just performance oriented alone(ktm kind of bikes)... I think Apache 310 is there, will it meet my expectations ...or any other 300cc bikes we can consider on?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It will. The wind tunnel test based design makes RR310 an effortless bike, even at the lowest speeds or turns in the city. But the FE is terrible at 28kmpl in city (Dominate returns higher). And the RR costs about ₹2.05L ex-showroom. And that's some big bucks to spend.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostSo around 300cc..?

Have you considered the Dominant? It's more economical and will be within ₹1.8L OTR.[My Motorcycles]

U meant dominor rite? Yes the power in it is good... What's the actual city/highway mileage it's producing? (Harsh/smooth ride)Originally posted by Bismaya View PostIt will. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Dominar is a good bike under 2 lakhs and an updated model is in testing which could be released any time in the near future. Mileage is a mixed bag as some people claim 30 kmpl in city and 35 kmpl in the highways while some people say it never exceeds 25 kmpl.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostYes agreed about your statements... I don't know why Yamaha severly cripples its FZ series bikes. FZ-s produces just 13 bhp what kind of joke it is?? I'm not asking for 19 bhp like the R15 v3 but this 150 cc mill must be able to produce at least 15 bhp. Similar is the case of the FZ25. It just produces 20 bhp with a 250 cc mill, which is less than some 200 cc mills. Agreed that it produces that power low down in the rev range and is more potent than those 200 cc bikes but 24-25 bhp could have done more justice.
Coming to your question, among the currently available ones, the FZ25, CBR250 are also good choices. But they won't be good upgrades. Not that they aren't good bikes but they aren't good upgrades.
