So if a bike has to produce maximum 37 to 40kmpl in city ride (smooth ride) and it should be decent-high-powered engine (at least beyond 200cc) , if then till how much cc engine we can expect on better fuel eff...?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yes they won't be a great upgrade upon performance, but for the sake of mileage and pillion comfort we have to sacrifice high powered engines rite...Originally posted by ayrus View Post

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Performance and mileage don't come together. Even with 200 cc bikes, only a lean carb and riding for the sake of mileage (no sudden accelerations, shifting at lower rpms, which take away the purpose of such a bike and may also damage the engine) can only give 40 kmpl. FZ25 being a detuned motor, gives fuel efficiency like a 200 cc bike. So yeah, the FZ25 will suit your purpose but not excite you with power.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostYes they won't be a great upgrade upon performance, but for the sake of mileage and pillion comfort we have to sacrifice high powered engines rite...

If someone asks me about my bike (RTR 200),
Do you love your bike? Yes
Does it have enough power? Yes
Is it fun to ride? Yes
Does it excite you every time you open the throttle? No
Are you satisfied with it? YesLast edited by ayrus; 11-24-2018, 09:11 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I agree with Ayrus. FZ25 won't the most exciting bike but it'll give you 40kmpl with city and mixed usage (atleast). Although it's a 250 mill but the 20bhp and FI makes it fuel efficient, when compared with likes on NS200 (again less FE here), RTR 200 4V (figures go as low as 33kmpl) and Xtreme 200 (struggles to give 35kmpl in city) which have poor FE.[My Motorcycles]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Recently went to a 200 kilometers ride, bike performed quite well, most of the time i was doing speeds of 80 to 100kmph with pillion and luggage with ease. In highways hornet shows a totally different character, it's very much stressfree to ride between 90 to 100kmph, fully satisfied [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4][emoji3][emoji16].

Yamaha is good. If you upgrade bikes frequently then KTM. Got more money to spare..... Interceptor 650 by RE. Or Kawasaki z250 are good.स्वभावो नोपदेशेन शक्यते कर्तुमन्यथा !

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
You should go for re 650 twin or upcoming bajaj triumph partnership motorcycles. Remember the bikes which will give more mileage, will be not so fun to ride. I think you should keep your hornet for daily commute and use higher capacity bike for weekend fun, in this way you'll get maximum fun .Originally posted by gowthamh View PostHey guyzz , Whats up.....
This is a kind off-topic of hornet160R...
Wanted to know your answers for this one...
Actually am a proud owner of hornet 160R and its features (except its lesser low end grunt)
Am a lover of good performance/tourer bikes,.. I like their instant response on acceleration as well engaging engine for long rides..
In future (at least not for next 3,4 years) I likes to upgrade to a bike that has performance, smooth engine as well decent mileage (at least around 40. Am looking for around 250cc engine...
So, which bike is best in your opinions that meets all my expectations,
At present, I think fz250 meets my expectations, so what do you think about it...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I've settled bro [emoji4] , after clocking 5k kilometers, i will update, honda svc told that the engine needs minimum of 3k kilometers to smoothen the engine, currently i am at 2500 kilometers, if they don't settle then I'll buy a twin cylinder motorcycle, atleast there will be less chances of vibrations [emoji13] [emoji13]Originally posted by ayrus View PostHello #bpk..... Good option, but money matters..Originally posted by #bpk View PostYou should go for re 650 twin or upcoming bajaj triumph partnership motorcycles. I thought of keeping one better bike, kind of 250cc (will have good performance and mileage will be somehow acceptable) and planned of buying some car in some 3,4 years (which became kind of necessity nowadays)
Though I has to buy car in future, bike will be special for me anyday...
Touring in bike is where my heart belongs...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Then, gixxer 250 will be a good option for you, it'll probably produce around 21+ bhp and 20+ nm of torque with great mileage, in short performance will be better than fz 250 anyday, also i find gixxer 155cc seating position lot more comfortable than fz 250, which has a lean forward stance unlike hornet and gixxer, i think gixxer 250 will also provide upright seating posture like hornet. Few of my friends of same height as mine have developed back ache riding fz in long distance riding.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostGood option, but money matters..

Hope Gixxer 250 will be more interesting... Lets wait for its release..Originally posted by #bpk View PostThen, gixxer 250 will be a good option for you, it'll probably produce around 21+ bhp and 20+ nm of torque with great mileage, in short performance will be better than fz 250 anyday, also i find gixxer 155cc seating position lot more comfortable than fz 250, which has a lean forward stance unlike hornet and gixxer, i think gixxer 250 will also provide upright seating posture like hornet. Are you talking about the CBR 250R? [emoji14]
Ticks all the boxes I think.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
For the gixxer 250, I'd expect a 25 bhp, ~22 Nm liquid cooled engine and priced between the FZ25 and CBR250. A free revving, 4 valve motor would be welcome. The FZ25 has 2 valves and though refined, does not feel easy at higher RPMs.Originally posted by #bpk View PostThen, gixxer 250 will be a good option for you, it'll probably produce around 21+ bhp and 20+ nm of torque with great mileage, in short performance will be better than fz 250 anyday, also i find gixxer 155cc seating position lot more comfortable than fz 250, which has a lean forward stance unlike hornet and gixxer, i think gixxer 250 will also provide upright seating posture like hornet. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
In CBR 250, initial pickup is better? Because am not a fan of gradual power delivery in acceleration , I want instant response on reving the engine ... starting from low RPM to bottom rpmOriginally posted by aishwary23 View PostAre you talking about the CBR 250R? [emoji14]

Yeah, i wish that suzuki makes it as you say, but it's highly unlikely.Originally posted by ayrus View PostFor the gixxer 250, I'd expect a 25 bhp, ~22 Nm liquid cooled engine and priced between the FZ25 and CBR250.
