People would fill in more, if you explain more about your requirement.
I am looking for a daily commuter with reliable engine and braking.

The price quoted is around 1.10 Lacks on road, Pune.

I am searching for a bike which wont require much service attention and will perform satisfactorily.

Main reason for going for Hornet is Honda's reliability plus availability of ABS.

Are there any issues you people have encountered for which you wont suggest me to go for Hornet?

It's single channel ABS. I believe it's only in front break.
Most of skids happen due to rear wheel lock up. I am not sure how good it would be.

Issue: Power feedback is not constant. The power and acceleration you get in lower end feels bit sluggish, the moment you pass 6k rpm, it feels what a powerful machine should be.

Reliability: Bike is reliable, hell yeah. Over 2.4 years, 19,000 Km. No breakdown.

Maintenance: Open chain requires proper service at home otherwise, it ruin driving pleasure. You have to clean and lube at least in a month.

Hi, I had an accident 1 month ago again and this time it was due to brakes... While going at 40kmph I pressed front brake all of a sudden in reflex due to car sudden break and bike slipped. I got leg fracture for 1 month and now I am confused to whether sell this bike due to unsafe and buy Tvs jupiter or should I keep the bike. Kindly suggest

Accident was because of your own inexperience. Dont blame the bike or the car.

While it’s good to have dual ABS, front channel is better than no ABS. And most lockup’s happen with the front as compared to the rear, hence that’s the wheel provided with the single channel ABS

              Hi,
Accidents will most probably occur due to front wheel lockup.

Honda has increased the prices of all models and variants of Hornet and it now costs 1.12 on road Pune for CBS version.

While I went to finalize the ABS version, it's cost didn't give justification.

Am again on the track to decide on bike selection!

              Apache 160 4v
              Yamaha fz

From above you mentioned Apache 1604v is much better in quality (yamaha also did great), riding performance and power.

                  ABS are always seems costly.
But even a single accident justify all ABS cost, protection gear cost, 10K helmet cost etc. No one wants a scar for years just for 20K rupees.
CBR 250 cost 30K more for ABS version.

I would not argue which break lock have more probability.

                  As far I know,
When bike is on higher speed >40 then while breaking, 80% weight transferred to front wheel. that's why rear wheel locked up so so easily as it doesn't have much pressure. this causes uncontrolled steering and hence skid in either direction. Yes, front wheel also get locked up. No denying it.

If speed is low say in parking, front wheel locked up easily. because of slow speed weight transfer doesn't happen. That's why, while parking it is advisable to use rear break while parking speed.
If you are looking to spend 1.15. You can also consider RTR 200 ABS. It looks good deal.

                    Hi,
The info that 80% weight is transferred is correct and is called dynamic load.

So when your front tyre is bearing 80% of traction efforts, what is more important to safeguard the front or rear?[emoji4]

I will be taking the test ride for ABS version tomorrow for final decision.

Seems a tough decision for me though.[emoji4]

                      Bhai, hope you recover soon.
I have also skid one and got bad bruises. But there are N number of time where this combi break/double disc saved me from putting a idiot jaywalkers in hospital and police trouble to me.

Different machine have different breaking technique. How you break in scoots should not be applied while breaking bikes. Better learn and develop your own technique.

Of-course, with each bike you make a connection. If you don't feel safe you should switch.
I always feel fu**g scared on scoots (4-5 different scoots but never felt confident). I feel like, over 60 I can't control breaking. I drive like total noob

But if rear get locked up, front ABS have no use? That's why I am skeptical about single wheel ABS front or back.
Though, you can make habit of never hard breaking rear wheel.

There is a reason why a single channel ABS has ABS in the front and not in the back. A fishtail can be controlled. If the front brake locks up, well, then you are definitely gonna kiss teh asphalt.

Hi xbhpian , i have recently purchased 2018 hornet abs from tezpur, assam. I have noticed that after riding about 8 to 10 kilometers my engine starts heating , and when i stop my bike i feel the hot air coming out from my engine. My odo reading is 111km . 1st servicing is yet to be done. Will the heat generation will be less after servicing please reply.

It’s within its run-in! Also just recheck engine oil levels are as required!

Engine oil level is ok. Will heat from engine will reduce after oil change.
