  • Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences

Hey guys !! Is there any problem if I don't give my bike to ASC for a long time and rather service it by any outside mechanic ?

The stock one is far worse. It'll heat up the engine even in the most cold climate.

Change disk pad and disk brake fluid.

But i am hearing screeching noise from front disk and the front brakes remain applied all the time as i can see the rear light glowing all the time

        what would be the issue?

It depends on the ASC to ASC. Some are really good and some are really pathetic. And some Center from same group would have a best service supervisor. So please have a research to see if they meet your expectation. Also, try to have a basic knowledge of bike engine and other key parts like brake fluid, pads etc. This helps keep service advisor at alert. They don’t bluff.
I would prefer ASC as they use genuine parts and their tools are very specific to the bike models. Currently I’m in Bengaluru and getting my bike serviced at Dhruvdesh near Jayamahal. I know a service advisor who is open and honest. Also, I will not be stingy when it comes to replacing any parts prematurely.

Local mechanics are tend to use worn out tools and use 2nd grade parts, which comes at cheaper price.

          Good luck!

Please check if any dust particle or object stick between break pad and disc. Try to pressure spray water to disc pad area so that the dirt comes out. If the issue still continues, remove the break pad and clean and install it again.
For break lights, try adjust a sensor button near front break lever. It may be fully pushed inside making the light always glow.

Is it fair to compare 160cc engine with 200cc?

Yes, because of the price in which hornet is sold. Honda should decrease the price.

                      Make sense!
Let’s see if some one compares extreme with KTM Duke 200 as there is huge price difference

Hero Moto Corp must have (now) learnt that simply 'scaling-up' an existing model in design, displacement and adding new colors won't work, and, they used a clever excuse saying we "tuned" it to be an everyday 'sporty' commuter. So unfortunately, the Xtreme 200 can be compared only to the sub-200 cc bikes as it would fail if pit against RTR200 or NS200. It's pricing (VFM quotient very high) is a desperate move to push and sell it. Am more interested in the Impulse 200, we should wait and see what they will offer.

Yes, atleast it doesn't look like a whale . Also, they might offer more like a gear position indicator. Am okay with tube-type tyres.

Yeah, i once told you that you'll like xpulse, because you like simple yet rugged machines like your ct 100.
