I replaced mine (Splendor Pro) at 31.1K (even after proper care of it) and my roomie's Hornet chain at 20K. The old Hornets have issues with chain which is fixed with the new one. I replaced with one from the 2018 variant. So far, it seems all good.

As for the Splendor, the new chains are cheap and less reliable when compared to the HH era bikes. Also, I replaced mine with a rollon chain. Those are sturdy and last more.

I thought all OEM's were from Rollon.

BTW, the Hero OEM Headlight unit I got for my CT100B has started to crap out pretty bad and its been only around 5 months, not sure if its cause of the recent Kerala monsoons or if Hero isn't maintaining tight QC as before, reason for concern being that the stock unit was also from same supplier i.e Lumax and after a year of abuse it was still as good as new.

So, can we put rolon chains to hornet..does it provide long life...? Does it affect normal behaviour of hornet

Not sure of there are rollon chains are for Hornet but I bought the 2018 model chain from the ASS and so far it hasn't worked like any of the crappy old chains.
@ashwinprakas I think the new bikes are not using Lumax. They must have switched from OEM rolon since just like they changed the spark plugs from Mico to Bosch. The suspensions are still showa though. The OEM Lumax replacement on my old HH CD 100 has been going steady for over 3 years now. It's used less but still not damaged.

Hero Hunk, stock chain 35K ODO. Not running much so never bothered to check it
Also, Splendor is lower displacement so less wear and tear.
But it doesn't mean chain set is right. You have to check the sprocket teeth.
                  Ideally, Chain life is 15-20K.

Just now one of my friend went to local mechanic for 8 years old Honda Twister, for some issue.
Mechanic also suggested the engine oil change as it's gone bad.
I was there and mechanic told that he would be doing engine flush process using petrol as:
                    1. Pour petrol in engine (I forgot if he said to drain before pouring the petrol)
                    2. Pmp kick for few minutes
                    3. Drain the petrol
                    4. Pour fresh engine oil

Anyone heard of engine flush using petrol. Sounds scary to me

So , I am in a position to change my chain sprocket.. it lasted nearly 14k... So can I change it now / else I can wait for Some more time, if I try to tight the chain, the adjustment bolt neared its end point as well some of the sprocket teeth got blunt..

It is from Lumax, I double and triple checked as I just couldn't believe the reflector distortion and ring rusting to happen so soon after purchase.

This was honestly a shocker for me as I used to believe that Hero was one of the better companies when it came to ensuring part quality.

If its distorted i,e tight in some places and loose at others then it would be best to replace.

My CT100B has been running with messed up chain set for the past 5k km's and recently it has started juddering and slipping, I had already bought a new set but had left it at my parents place hoping that I'd run a few hundred km's more and change it at the 25k mark as I have a thing for round figures. Bad decision on my part.

Even mine has tight and loose places, but with that loose chain , I rode almost 2,3k KMs.. so is it better to wait for some more K's...?

It is always safe to change it as I said I now understand my decision to be a really bad one. Because if the chain slips mid overtake (it did happen yesterday) then you're as good as dead.
