Take your winter clothing, it's around 10 degree there 😍, which can be felt alot at night. I've had made a mistake once for not carrying winter gloves and the thermal liner for my jacket, that lead to not riding very comfortably on the "Ghat" section.

Thanks bro! I made same mistake in Dec when riding to Nashik at 6:30 in morning! It was so cold that I was shivering on bike out of control!!! [emoji23]

Is there anyone here from Chennai? Anyone with good experience in vehicle (two wheeler) mechanics? Or anyone coming to chennai?

          Hello Xbhpians..
          I don't own a hornet,
But own the first generation Hornet 😄 the DAZZLER, and a RS200.

I was just going through this thread, to know about hornet and saw a complaint that is the chain gets loose very fast,

My friends also have said this issue about his Hornet,

I would suggest you guys to change the rear tyre to 140/60 when changing next time, most of you will be enjoying the look bigger tyre gives, but the 140/70 is a very heavy tyre which will give more stress to the chain I think, honda might have done it for better look from rear.
140/60 will also improve the initial acceleration.

          Njoy the ride.
          Ride safe 👍

140*60 if I m not wrong is similar to Gixxer . Yea I feel that would help with pickup and millage as well . I also heard Gixxer has a set of grippy tyres so even that would b positive.

Yes! Gixxer stock tyre is realy grippy, i think its a radial tyre.

My dad's bike, passion, which is more than 10 years old has been lying idle for more than 2 months now. I tried starting it, took several kicks. And then without riding it, I switched off and 1.5 days later checked it at night. Just one kick was all that was needed! Throttle feels great. Gears were smooth! Acceleration was good! Far lesser vibes too! And then I think of my hornet....gosh! If only I could make it better.....
Btw, the old bike runs on motul semi-synthetic. I think it does a great job

Even I faced this issue all of a sudden in my bike and after then it never recovered. After engine heats up say 4-5 km bike use to get rough as hell . Rattelling noise from engine starting 4k rpm. I made a video on YouTube and mentioned the endless engine parts I had to change . Search my name you will see it Abhik Singh. Hope it helps

I am not facing any loose chain problem on my Hornet till now after covering 4200 km. I adjust chain tension and periodically clean and lubricate the chain myself because I have found ASC services not that good.

You will have to sacrifice slight top speed, ground clearance and mileage if 140/60 tyre is fitted but should get better handling and better acceleration.

Yes, tyre change is good advice. Also go for radial tyres. They provide better grip, life and breaking resistance.

Loosing Chain: I think new bikes does it. My chain also got loosen till 2nd second service. But, now it's been more than 3 months and chain is still holding it.

Yesterday, my bike was parked in under sunlight for more than two hours. When I rode it around 10Km and switched off at crossing. It refuses to start it. Later after 5 min it started as nothing happened.
Somewhere on Team-BHP, I found that this might have caused due to vapour formation and instant remedy is to open tank for few second and start.

Can we use Honda full throttle synthetic oil for hornet 160r in 1st service?
The mechanics in asc suggest to for synthetic right from 1st service and claim that they have got instructions from honda.

Yes. FS oil does no harm to bikes, don't believe the rumors. Honda tests these suckers before releasing them to the public. If FS oil had any negative effects on the engine almost all Hornets and CBR would have been screwed by now.
