Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I didn't take care of my chain sprocket. Set for the first 10000 km but it lasted me till 25 k km, if I did take care, could have come till 35k km , surprising the quality isn't up to the standard from Honda... Cb 190 would have been better than the hornet.Originally posted by Venkatesh Prakash View Post

Send an email to HMSI, stating that you are disappointed with your vehicle and your trust in Honda quality is destroyed. We shouldn't keep quiet, the company needs customer feedback, otherwise they will never improve the quality.Originally posted by Venkatesh Prakash View PostI have completed 13500 kms and already replaced the chain sprocket set 😞 don't know what else I need to change. Worst part is I take extensive care and still things are not going as expected first the rear disk plate now the sprocket set.
A couple of CBR 250 have done 35k kms on the factory Chain, and the brake rotors/discs are fine even at 40,000 kms. Could it be possible that some boffin at Honda thought he could lower the quality of the Hornet, to make more profits?Last edited by leech; 02-01-2017, 09:27 AM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
+1. We should also ask Honda why they have provided a non-O-ring chain that is not covered. Surely the reason for accelerated wear no matter how sincere he was lubing it every 250-500 kms. My suggestion for all Hornet owners is to go for a suitable o-ring chain (same pitch, removable link and if possible same number of links) at the first sprocket kit change. It is so sad that Suzuki has improved its quality from the Zeus/GS days that it now exports Gixxer even to Japan, while Honda which is in top 3 is royally taking us for a ride. We should also ask them why they continue to provide el-cheapo switchgear (but that atleast is live-able to an extent).Originally posted by leech View PostSend an email to HMSI, stating that you are disappointed with your vehicle and your trust in Honda quality is destroyed. Hornet is such a beautiful 150-160 cc premium from Honda after Dazzler, let down by their own cheap tactics and attitude

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
My ASC suggested for chain replacement in 18,000 km during their service at 12,000 km.Chain tightening /alighnment screw reached at its end. Will write a detailed experience sharing after completing 18,000 Km.Originally posted by vaRider View PostI think you're the first one to cross 15k on Hornet! Wish you all the best!
Why so early chain and tire replacement? Should last till 25k km.

Tried all the stuff, changed service center's wrote e mail and finally same service center personnel calls for rectification. Stating Honda complaint number which I am not ready to visit any more after these experiences.Originally posted by ishaaq View PostI would suggest you change the service center. Make a complain to honda customer care and explain your issues. At last say that your not happy with the current service center. They would suggest you good asc.

Feel disappointed at times for the wrong selection. Can't help just trying to leave with it.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostI didn't take care of my chain sprocket. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Might be the cost was the view point to acquire while launch , the local mechanic whom I know is a ex head supervisor from Honda. He himself states that the chain used is not sufficient for the wheel base in hornet.Originally posted by leech View PostSend an email to HMSI, stating that you are disappointed with your vehicle and your trust in Honda quality is destroyed. Trust me it has better quailty than hornet, must see the switch gears of Dazzler, although lacks kill switch gear, they are bigger and of better quailty compared to hornet,U160 and. cbr150.
Honda has now entered to cost cutting style and more profit making.
Cheers.

Never knew that the Hornet has a non O-ring chain.
How can Honda take things for granted on a motorcycle that costs above 1 lakh OTR.
I think Honda is acting too greedy!

We need to note down the things while next replacement.
I found out Radial Tyre are not tubeless
. Then which tubeless tyre is closest to Radial breaking and strength ?
