For me it was about 2500-3000 , cost of the sprocket around 1900-2000, cost of fiting some 300rs plus lubing 300 plus tax.

The chain and sprocket replacement for RS200 costs 3000 at SVC, and that chain is o-ring and pitch is .520.
I think hornet has smaller chain with pitch .428.

Even the duke/rc sprocket is the same rate as you've mentioned , looks like Honda is priced cheaper than bajaj in some aspects, like how much is the cost of the rs 200 fairing ? Alloys, etc?

I haven't changed any of these things , except the chain and sprocket.
            I have done 14,000 kms , 1 year 6 months old.

Both have proper o-ring chains - that is the reason I initially assumed Hornet too came with an o-ring chain, but owners posted otherwise. I learn't that "NOR" in the chain name doesn't necessarily mean "non o-ring". It has to mean something else. Apache RTR series from TVS too has a proper o-ring chain. One also has the option of x-ring chains (costlier but better than o-ring) for FZ from Rolon.

Yes Dominar too have x-ring chain, how much difference will be there between a x-ring and o-ring chain?

I don't have the exact numbers. X-ring costed 1265/- INR in December 2015 for Deville_56 (He is active in the FZ16 thread here).

One can read his wonderful FZ16 ownership experience here:

                    Ohhhh [emoji32]
In my opinion, jerky nature of bike increases wear and tear. And probably this heavy tire is not suitable for bike with just 160 CC engine. Or there is some fault in chain design.

I noticed many times that one needs to use clutch a lot when in slow speeds.

I was about to reply, then saw your note. Thanks.
I remember reading about queries regarding Gixxer's chain in the initial pages of Gixxer ownership thread and later someone confirmed that it is an O-ring type.
Almost all the bikes that are having open chain case are having o-ring chains (or x-ring) save for the old bullets.

Both gixxer and FZ have a .428 pitch, 132 link chain. If I'm correct, even the Hornet has a 132 link chain, so these chains should work on the Hornet.

We need to note down the things while next replacement.

I found out Radial Tyre are not tubeless. Then which tubeless tyre is closest to Radial breaking and strength ?
I have not browsed much on tyres till date. And don't want to think about it this early as already I am tired of spending extra on spares 😀

Where did you find that out from, that radial tyres aren't tubeless? Most of them are tubeless.

Whoever is changing their chain/sprocket, try out FZ's or Gixxer's chain. It has the same number of links and same pitch too.

                              Yeah..
I got it now. In Gixxer too, it's radial Tubeless rear tyre. But When ever I google it, it's tubeless vs radial.
                              Thanks for clarification.

Also consider the fact that the hornet has a lot of plastic parts and if you end up dropping it, you are most probably going to scratch/break a part (God forbid). Replacement IMO would be easier for a colour which has sold well. Getting parts for the spl edition would probably be difficult.
