You will have to pull the sides outward and then the assembly comes out.

      Premium wash : 150/- (Wash+polish)
On website they claim that it is fully automatic and will take 3min.
In reality: Semi automatic with guy did wash with pressurized jet.
      Time: 15min

I asked how many bikes he wash daily. He said only 6-7. I suppose this is very low to make this bushiness work.
The whole setup is just a bok like 2x size of big generator. Website claim that they recycle the water again and again to save water.
Overall it was nice setup and cleaning is better than service center. I am not sure about pricing though. Seems high. Anyone washed the bike at local shop? how much they charge.

[QUOTE=darthvader_omi;1243001]Its a new bike. Give it a 1000kms to become smooth. Ideally for a new bike you just need to do smooth acceleration. Don't rev it too much and don't keep it in constant speed for long. Vary speed from low to high for short time so engine is perfectly run in. Also, if you can't do this don't worry, all new engines are built to extremely tough standards. I drove below 4k rpm upto 500kms and then ripped the bike. Still getting an average of 45. Trust me

That sounds encouraging! So, right now, my bike straining at 15 kmph in first gear(similarly in subsequent gears) is sure to change after first service or 1500kms? I mean can I expect it to accelerate till 25 atleast? Else its no better than my dad's 10 year old hero honda passion

Well, its not like the traffic conditions in our country always allow us to ride perfectly, in fact, i'm usually forced to downshift just when I had shifted up cuz the guy in front, who I think is accelerating away, suddenly applies brakes! Anyways, Im digressing.....what I need to know is that right now in first gear(Im taking the 1st gear as my example, other gears are not that different, also I keep repeatedly mentioning it because it's kind of the important gear to me - to be able to smoothly take off from traffic without worrying about immediate upshifting), my bike creeps after 13kmph with an increasing strain on the engine as I rev it(no vibes though), now how would you feel like revving more? Its lost its acceleration and I keep opening up my throttle more and more, but I feel its already time to shift. If the gears are so short in hornet, it amazes me as to how it beats gixxer in the 0-100 kmph race.....

1 and 2 are quite short, the rest are very tall geared.

                  Hello everyone,
First, I thank everyone in this thread for their valuable feedback. Because it helped me to stay with my Hornet. As I was almost sold my bike in Olx for its poor performance in city. After reading this whole thread, I just deleted my ad in olx. I got some hope that you people will help me to make my Hornet better.
                  Actually my concerns are:
1.Rusting on tank lid, only four bolts are totally rusted, not others. Don't know Why! Rust near footrest, chassis.

2.Poor performance in city - every time I slowed down, bike need to downshift the gear to first or second. frequent gear changing is mess for me, Gixxer even in third gear, rides smoothly. Engine braking like thing is happening with me. If I ride at constant throttle in second or third gear@ 10-15kmph, the bike jerks. Fz drives smoothly, without any jerk. At first, my bike doesn't make sound even @ 100kmph. But now, its crying like clutch plates have worn out. Throttle response has become worse on my bike. It is taking a lot of time to catch the speed.

3.My bike got two accidents in last four months - This ripped my heart. Because I care a lot to my bike. and accidents happened when I gave it to my friends. Once in march and another in may. From that time I stopped giving my bike to others. Its difficult actually.
But I am lucky that I have zero depreciation Insurance. I have claimed both the time. Every minor scratch part has been replaced. This bike parts are really cheap compare to Yamaha or Suzuki.

Sorry for the long post. I will shorten as I get used to this thread.

Thank you. Ride safe and give the bike to the person who cares as same as you. Happy riding.

Somewhere in thread I read that rusting due to material of bolt to make it robust.

I agree with the downshifting in city traffic. Hornet's grear are odd compare to other bikes. I think we just need to get used to. In early days I struggled but now I am am comfortable with it.

Guys is the nulon petrol additive any good? The ASC guys sells them saying it is very good for the bike(small green can around 90Rs) and asks to put it in petrol on refuelling but both the times when i added it to petrol i like felt bike lost pickup.only after next refulling the pickup returns.

Don't use nulon and other additives. Waste of money and useless.

The scratch looks too deep. You can only use some touch up paint to cover the spot.
