    Hi check this illustration pic
Those two bolts at the end of the arm of sprocket (extreme east) had gotten loose. Not one... both of them. I tightened them with my hand and continued my journey. Though they didnt get loose later but i am worried.
Now please tell what to do??

Also i personally hadn't done chain tightening , maybe my bro did.
Last service was second service done at 6k kms

    Please help. Thanks da

Those are the nuts used for chain tightening. If not done correctly, it could result in wobbling due to wrong chain alignment. Get it done immediately by a mechanic.

If loosening of those nuts caused wheel wobble then i think your axle bolt is not tightened properly.. If axle bolt is tight then loosening those nuts wont create any movement on wheel. They are only for pulling the rear wheel back to adjust chain slack that too when axle bolt is loosened.

        • Will an NGK iridium spark plug do better on my Honda Hornet CBS

          Hi all,

I am very new to Xbhp and a novice to all the technical details. I would like to know if I could replace my stock NGK spark plug with an NGK Iridium plug on my new Honda Hornet CBS. Even though the specs talk about 14.76 NM @6500 rpm, however, I feel a lack of pick up may be after 5000-6000 RPM. I did check the condition of the spark plug at the nearest workshop, but the plug seems fine. I feel really disappointed to find lack of torque after exiting a curve on 3rd gear and then up shifting to 4th gear. I could take it to 2nd gear also before the turn but, I am afraid this will spoil the bikes condition on the long run. I find 3rd, 4th and the 5th gears not delivering sufficient power to a riding fanatic's expectation.

The bike is only less than a month old, but I ride 80 kms every day on an average because I am a sales guy. Its been more than a week after the first service and there is a good difference in the condition of the gear( was very tight in the beginning). The total kms run is 1566 kms and I regularly check the oil level and chain slackness. I got it tightened and lubed 3 times since I bought the bike and the workshop technicians uses cleaner and lube of Motul.

I guess you must have identified the actual problem from the above symptoms and please advise on how to improve the bikes performance or advise if there is any problem on the way I ride.

          Thanks and regards

Plus there's the full chain cover which prevents the chain from dirty too quickly.

On my bike there are no issues with switchgear at all (in and after heavy rain of course).

              What is notching sound?

Sorry it was typo, I mean knocking sound. The knocking sound is there in low speed also, but sound becomes very rough in high speeds due which i am hardly driving above 70+.

When riding at speed of 70kmph and if I accelerate hard, then starts the hiccups as if there is no petrol and if I accelerate very linearly there is no problem I took it till 103kmph

And even the rpm is taking some time to come down to 1.5

What I suspect is a bad choke cable or too lean AFR mixture

Did any one of you guys had faced the same issue?

It is not normal. It looks like the AFR is wrong. Get it checked.

I will mention the issue at the time of service and see if they resolve

Is your bike behaving exactly same as mine under hard acceleration??

Yesterday after little rough riding I mean red lining.
When I parked my bike, i could smell burning rubber type smell.
It came from the engine chassis.
                        What should it be?? :O

Yamaha RX 100's Mud Flap which cost only Rs.15 + Fevi Kwik Rs.5 . A small , but effective solution to control water splash from your Hornet's front tyre.
                          Dear Remesh Augustine,
Thanks for your suggestion. I exactly bought the mud flap you suggested for Rs10.I used a double side tape(I had at my home) to stick instead of Fevi Kwik.
                          It is very effective.

                          • Honda CB Hornet 160R feels glitchy!

The shifting in my hornet 160R is not smooth, specifically, shifting to second gear feels notchy and the bike almost always lurches forward. Plus it screams at just 15kmph in the 1st gear and I can feel the strain in the engine if I rev it any further. My bike is new and hasn't been to first service yet. Speed ranges in 2nd and 3rd gears also seem limited. Is this normal? Does it get better after first service?
Also I would be quite pleased if someone can throw some light on how to ride it before first service since nothing has been said about that in the manual.
                            Thanks
