Last week I did a long trip of 600 Km up and down and now what I feel that pickup dropped drastically and with pillion engine feels stressed. Cheked the air pressure it is correct .On highway I felt engine was rough below 65 but above it was smooth and I got top speed of 111 only.I am suspecting clutch has worn because whenever I pull throttle in 3,4&5 Gear engine screech for sec and then power is delivered. I have done only 2800 km .Clutch plates are covered in warranty? I feel like I am riding 100 cc bike.Even FE has dropped from 55 to 50.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
1.The engine feels very smooth when cold there is a marginal difference in the harshness of engine when driven in early morning or in afternoon.
Is it due to the 10w30 oil used by honda?
2. The engine again feels rough when there is less fuel or the bike is in reserve.
Is it due to lesser oil pressure or the carb is designed so?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
1. Mostly. I'm currently using Motul 7100 10w40. It's better than stock Honda oil. This oil is best at high RPMs.
In the afternoon heat bike engines do tend to become a little harsh.
2. This seems to be a general behavior with most carb bikes. I'm not sure.

Yes, you're right. Usually I pull choke in morning but at one time i didn't pull choke and just rode the bike gently for 35 km. It was really smooth! 😀Originally posted by Saurabh213 View Post1.The engine feels very smooth when cold there is a marginal difference in the harshness of engine when driven in early morning or in afternoon.

And yeah, even I felt like bike feels rough when lesser fuel is there. But i thought it's my assumption...
Btw, are there problems in every new bike? I feel like Hornet is very troublesome.😔😓😖😯😮😥Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It's a new bike, it will have some issues.
It won't be the clutch plates. Maybe afr isn't optimum.
My bike felt very rough and felt similar to yours after giving my bike to ASC for fixing an oil leak. The ASC guy mistook my bike for someone else's (later came to know the other bike was a trigger) and 'tuned' my bike for mileage apart from fixing the leak. I tried afr tuning as sibun sir suggested, but I wasn't successful.
After a few days I went to a local mechanic to adjust chain slack and check air filter (this came to my mind on the spot). I had some urgent work so I left with my friend for 5-10 minutes. I collected the bike and rode it. Was surprised to hear the KnN sound along with the return of a smooth engine. The stupid mechanic had forgotten to fix back the filter cover and had fixed it in someone else's bike[emoji36]. Argued with him and he paid me for the cover. I came to know that the afr was set rich by the ASC and because of more air, afr became a little leaner and afr was close to being good.
Sorry for the long post.Last edited by Shashank K R; 07-16-2016, 01:38 AM.

Yes engine feels rough in low fuel/reserve.Originally posted by Saurabh213 View Post

Some problem with fuel flow to carb.
Many have noticed this in hornet and uni 150 also.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I just took my bike for a short 150km ride today
My observations:
When riding at speed of 70kmph and if I accelerate hard, then starts the hiccups as if there is no petrol and if I accelerate very linearly there is no problem I took it till 103kmph
And even the rpm is taking some time to come down to 1.5
What I suspect is a bad choke cable or too lean AFR mixture
Did any one of you guys had faced the same issue?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Today I took my bike for servicing at Dugar Honda Kolkata and funny incident happened. My bike was given to young mechanic who was trying to tighten the chain but he was unable to loosen the the axle nut so he started hammering on spanner ,I immediately stopped him and complained the same to workshop manager, who replied casually donnot worry but I insisted to change the mechanic, so he did .I even told him that I am writing a complain mail to honda.Same time other mechanic came and he Started taking photos of my new installed fog lamps and told if I complained he would send this photos which will void my warranty. Lol

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi
Today i found my tyre.. rear tyre wobbled little
I didn't take risk to neglect it. Stopped by and found the screws near the chain (sprocket) dangerously loose
I tightened them
It was temp solution
What should i do next?? Please help

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Asc set afr rich and called it 'mileage' tuning. That too he did it for the wrong bike. Afr as in air fuel ratio of the carb.
Which screws? Do you mean the sprocket bolts?Last edited by Shashank K R; 07-17-2016, 01:44 AM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
If these are the screws (bolts) that hold the sprocket to the wheel, then just get loctite threadlocker from any electrical store and apply it to the screw before tightening it.Originally posted by Zeit View PostHi

The tyre might wobble if either
1. the rear axle isnt tightened properly,
2. the bush is worn out
3. in rare cases, if the chain isnt aligned properly.
none of these problems is DIY. suggest u get to the ASC earliest to get the problem rectified.
if u have just come out of one, then they haven't done a good job...
