Get your carb settings checked I guess

There is a reason the company gave the first gear, use it. It hardly takes half a second to shift up to first.
If you continue this, expect heavy maintenance cost in a few years, pistons rings gone bust, engine not compressing, engine overhaul.
Acquire good riding habits brother, they will serve you and your bike for a lifetime.
Get bad habits and it will be very difficult to change them, cause overtime, they will become your second nature. And it is easy to learn a good habit, but very difficult to unlearn a bad habit and then learn the good one and change your riding style.
      Ride safe brother.
Thanks buddy for the advice. I was just curious that's why i was doing that.
Earlier i rode splendor, pulsar 150 and other bikes but they were not able to pickup from second gear when stopped on a traffic signal, but our hornet can do this. Will return to normal routine of gear 1-gear 2 as i love my bike and don't want to damage it .

          Your warranty will be void.
You'll need to upgrade battery but there's no free space around battery compartment. So I doubt if you can fix bigger battery.

If you do, please post pics. I also want to do it.

Even I'm not satisfied at all. I visited Honda SVC and checked. Nothing can done to improve it...

Only external or auxiliary can be helpful. Seriously sometimes I regret it...😑😥😫

                Hi all,
Thanks guys for helping me out in finding the issue earlier with high idling speed after long ride.

Had done first service @ 774 kms, and they have adjusted the idling speed @ hot condition, and high idling after long ride problem is fixed.

And I asked for mineral oil, but the service adviser was adamant and made me go with Honda Throttle oil (costed me around 680 including vat).

Also gear shift has become considerably smooth after oil change.

The engine feels smooth after servicing, but I feel like power has come down a little bit.
Initially I up-shift to 5th usually around 45kmph, and now I feel like not having enough torque @ 5th gear below 55. So I stick with 4th and rev it hard, and take it to 5th gear after 55kmph.
Do anyone else face power drop after first service..

It's usual. It will be normal after few days.

Difference between new and old air filter. Just 7000km and filter is clogged. Bike feels much better with the new filter.

BTW what all things should be checked at 2nd service?

Bike feels more free revving. With the dirty filter I had to ride without the snorkel to prevent rich afr.

Still Need to tune the AFR correctly.

Guys check your air filter after 6000kms.

Check the manual behind the free service coupons, it's given what to check (of course the ASC mechanics don't check everything).

                              New one cost me 130.

Yours looks good enough to use more. Replace at around 10-12k kms.

                                Hi All,

I have got my Honda Hornet CBS Orange color yesterday in Chennai, I rode the bike for as sole rider and with pillion, one thing i did notice that, when i ride any pothole or spead breaker with pillion rider I got a something crashing against some thing(collision with any part or any part touching the road). Then after analysing for some time, i suspect the saree guard hitting the big bolt which is in chain section, did u guys ever noticed this kind in ur bike, Please help. Also Im in need of fitting foot rest in to sareguard since it is quite pain for a pillion to ride with out resting the foot. Please suggest is there any shop where we can fit the foot rest or do we need to weld in to sareeguard.
